(546 posts)Imprisoning them in the stressful environment of a small pool made to preform for dead fish when they have high intelligence language and culture is extreme cruelty.
I suggest people go look at some videos on Orcas on You Tube or to read something about them. This creature is our counterpart in the waters in many ways. We really should treat them better.

(24,706 posts)I feel bad (sort of) for those who may lose jobs at Seaworld but the whales need to be freed and no more taken into captivity.

Kick in to the DU tip jar?
This week we're running a special pop-up mini fund drive. From Monday through Friday we're going ad-free for all registered members, and we're asking you to kick in to the DU tip jar to support the site and keep us financially healthy.
As a bonus, making a contribution will allow you to leave kudos for another DU member, and at the end of the week we'll recognize the DUers who you think make this community great.
