(15,373 posts)The National Geographic Channel has been running the original Cosmos with Carl Sagan all day. When it was on thirty years ago, I thought he looked like an older man. Now he looks so young. He would have been 80 this year if not for his untimely death. Such a loss.

(522 posts)I just realized that in 1980 there was no internet. I really like how Carl Sagan presented each segment.

(417 posts)Dyson doesn't have the compelling speaking voice that Carl had, but the quality of the visuals will more than compensate. Woo hoo!

(6,262 posts)Adored Sagan and LOVE Degrasse-Tyson.
Once saw him on CSpan talking to an audience of adults and kids. Magical.
He is a national treasure and he must be aching with the reduction in real science funding.

(3,735 posts)since I first heard about the remake. So excited to see real science in primetime... this is wonderful.
Carl Sagan would be pleased.

(16,140 posts)who needs science when we have Glenn Beck and Sarah Bimbo-head?
Cannot wait for this show. Made a pot of lentil soup, pouring a glass of claret, maybe even a bowl of fresh popcorn for show time.
And BHO is going to introduce the first show, I hear. Neil and Barack - my two big crushes. It's OK though, my husband knows.

And it is...
If it was major brush, that be at the ends of the county on a very narrow windy road that I HATE driving.
