WTF CNN's British Accented "Expert" Richard Quest???

I loathe him, they call him and aviation expert but I think they call him a different kind of expert with each passing week.

I guess it's the accent that gives him such a tone of authority.

So I Googled him, couldn't get past this story from a couple years back, "a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals":

Richard Quest, CNN Reporter, Arrested On Drug Charges

CNN personality Richard Quest was busted in Central Park early yesterday with some drugs in his pocket, a rope around his neck that was tied to his genitals, and a sex toy in his boot, law-enforcement sources said.[...]

Quest was initially busted for loitering, the source said. Aside from the oddly configured rope, the search also turned up a sex toy inside of his boot, and a small bag of methamphetamine in his left jacket pocket.

It wasn't immediately clear what the rope was for.

I repeat...

Expert, yes or no???

But I wonder, what does his arrest have to do with his qualifications regarding stories about airplanes?

Lots of that sort of sentiment has come to the fore on DU recently. 'Look, he does not have missionary position wife sex, he must be without human value'.

And apparently Quest deserves extra "ick" points for having a British accent - the fact that he is British notwithstanding.

The OP says more about the poster than the subject of the post.

It's partially the LGBTQ movements fault for focusing on and idealizing marriage, while ignoring the persecution of those who cruise or are otherwise not "mainstream".

but I really have no curiosity whatsoever in experimenting with tying a rope around my neck and attaching it to my genitals. And if I did, I would not want to try it outdoors in a public park. But if I did, I would not pick Central Park in NYC. Let alone bring meth with me.

Well...I guess that could make sense..but with his background ...how do we know what he is making up just to get the CNN Gig to talk about relationship with jr. pilot.

Whatever... We know that CNN often finds folks who spout propaganda for the MIC...so who knows.

the choking during ejaculation is supposed to be a special kind of climax for some, unless you choke to death before I guess.

I'm not sure but I am not going to google it.

Between him and the dude they got to replace Larry King, I'm just flipped out by the accents.

Maybe he does know about aviation, and his sexual proclivities are only amusing to me in that so many of the rest of us would never have found work after that.

Hysterical and hysterically funny, all at once.

I happened to be awake in the wee small hours so turned on CNN just before tottering off to bed. I was only going to peep at the world for a moment, but that particular moment was when the stock exchanges around the world tanked. My jaw dropped. Nikkei. Hong Kong. The rolling disaster report as the dawn came to other parts of the world than mine.

With Richard Quest reporting. He came unglued. It was like watching the clown car at the circus. My absolutely favorite line was: "This is the end of capitalism!!!!!!!" I laughed out loud at the sheer presumptuousness of such a statement -- and answered back, "No it's not, you fool." The end of a lot of poor souls' life savings, which was no laughing matter -- but not the end of capitalism, ever.

Without ever know the piece of salacious gossip you just posted, I have never looked at Quest the same since. I just keep waiting to see if he will ever again rise to the level of his Stock Market Crash performance.
