Actor Liam Neeson reportedly turned real-life hero to save a dog from a group of kids in New York. Reports suggest the Taken star was jogging in Central Park, New York when he heard a woman calling for help as she attempted to stop a group of young thugs throwing rocks at a stray dog they had cornered, according to ShowbizSpy.com. A source tells the National Enquirer, "Liam charged down a path and confronted three gangbanger wannabe types. "Liam yelled that they'd better stop or he'd knock the c**p out of them - but the punks just swaggered up and warned him to mind his own business. In a fury, he warned them to back off fast - or else!" During the confrontation, police arrived at the scene, prompting the alleged attackers to back down and run off. The source continues, "Liam just shook his head and approached the shivering dog, stroking it while the policeman assessed its injuries."

(18,184 posts)I don't know who you are. I don't know what you want. If you are looking for ransom, I can tell you I don't have money. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you let the dog go now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I WILL rescue the dog.

(890 posts)That would be a pretty dull movie, since it would just be 90 or so minutes of looking at a pile of wolf dung, because that's all that would be left of his character.

That said, I couldn't watch that film.

I love Liam Neeson. He was one of the good guys who was faithful to his wife. That is kinda rare in Hollywood. Plus he's just damn gorgeous!

(12,448 posts)I've loved Liam Neeson. This makes me admire him more.
It's no small thing, even for a grown, physically fit man, to wade in and confront a bunch of aggressive teenagers bent on violence.

It's called NON STOP and it was fun. He cracked skulls and snapped necks and all that as a Federal air marshal on a plane with, to be understated, PROBLEMS.

(53,661 posts)After that, they threw stones both real and verbal at me on a regular basis. I asked my father what did the names they called me meant.
He said, "It doesn't matter, none of those names are you. Next time they start up, ask them, 'Who are you talking to? That's not me.'"
People do suck at times. They need a reminder there are better ways to be. It is time for people to follow role models who do the right thing by all. They should be getting attention, not sociopaths or bullies.
