(78,249 posts)The media has to sort of come out of this ethos that I think was in principle a good one, but it doesnt really apply in science, Tyson said. The ethos was, whatever story you give, you have to give the opposing view. And then you can be viewed as balanced.

(3,976 posts)"Some claim that evolution is just a theory, as if it were merely an opinion. The theory of evolution -- like the theory of gravity -- is a scientific fact. Evolution really happened. Accepting our kinship with all life on Earth is not only solid science. In my view, its also a soaring spiritual experience."

(7,309 posts)Well, that's because if they don't understand evolution, then they aren't scientists.

(38,727 posts)yes, some scientists think that Darwin didn't nail it down perfectly in the 1st attempt. You disingenuous cretins.

(17,621 posts)This is Tyson's domain. Kids -- and adults -- need a place to actually learn science, since the schools can't teach it anymore thanks to these clowns.

(154,021 posts)And you deserve nothing approaching equal time on national media. Now you want to speak of this in church, that is where it belongs.
And many scientists rejecting Evolution....you sure they are scientists?

I respect those with different beliefs and they sure have a big influence on the culture down here in Texas. But that does not make their beliefs science. If they have something to offer that stands up to peer review I am happy to take a look.

(20,356 posts)People who don't believe science, demand equal time on a science program, because scientists are being mean to them for doing science stuff.

I am actually surprised how much the History Channel and NatGeo have programs about the Bible, etc. It is kind of a soft peddling of these religious beliefs.
