Thanks to all of you who have helped me in some way after Mousie.

Your words and thoughts travel through these funny old interwebs and help a lot. The brave new digital world is not as cold as some would have us believe.

The kindness of 'strangers' keeps the Earth on its axis IMO.

I will get through this somehow. The only way out is forward so I have to keep moving. The sharp pain will turn into an ache of melancholy. When that occurs, I will be able to handle the memories of Mousie. Right now the edges are too cutting.

For all of this, I wouldn't have missed any moment.

We recently lost a beloved cat but I'd really be worried if we felt nothing and just "moved on".

It is heartbreaking watching a loved one die, but I bet they would not want to be anywhere else in the world but next to their best friends as they leave. It is sobering, the loss.

that Tuky left behind. (And I cannot show a photo to Cookie, or he starts crying, parrots do cry)... but the sharp edges will diminish. Then the memories will become sweet in a way.

Maybe your Mousie will find mine in the afterlife. Still waiting to get a couple of new kittens to replace another 18 1/2 year old I lost almost 2 years ago. It's been a crazy set of years and I just moved recently, and am still getting unpacked at a place I just moved to before getting some new friends. I've missed having those sorts of friends around. Starting a new job today, so hopefully things are settling down for me and I'll have a new friend soon. Hope you find another friend to help you recover from this time in a decent way when you are ready too. I'm ready for a new start after a while of missing my old cat.
