Generally I side with the police in the majority of shootings involving a suspect with a knife (suspect coming at officers, charging them, has already harmed someone, etc...), but this one was straight bullshit. They had several options at their disposal and still fired lethal rounds first without the suspect making furtive movements or anything else.

Like the troops so often do.
It is hard for me to not suspect some of these officers were not twisted by their service in Iraq or Afghanistan.

They forced the issue and while the gentleman was armed and dangerous, they had enough distance that he wasn't presenting an immediate threat.
