I keep hearing Julia Roberts, Donald Sutherland and Susan Sarandon's voiceover work

in commercials. Is this how capitalists have tamed the Hollywood liberals? Just a thought.

voiceover work is a new and really lucrative form of acting and has washing them up into the corporate world in a way they never expected. I just wonder. Why all the liberals? Maybe corporations are trying to appeal to liberal audiences?

Ads have been using well known actors in the UK for decades, and it's surely the same in the USA. And it's been lucrative as well - reading Michael Palin's biography, he got paid very well in the 70s for the work he did.

More likely the agencies want professionals with familiar voices.

But Hollywood does seem quiet on politics these days.
