Very crowded. No place to sit, so I'm camped out on the floor, like many. My number is 1096, and they just called 815. We ought to put sign ups over 6 million all by ourselves, if it isn't there already. Can't wait to see what I can get signed up for.

(70,078 posts)we have done a lot around this issue, back to forums before the law was passed.
i think this was our 4th, and we are also working tomorrow and monday.
it has been great helping people, we have signed up a few hundred. my hood is heavily populated with self-employed creatives, so it is really important to us right here on the ground.
the occasional obamacare troll crawling out of the woodwork is a pain, tho. i was just working a table, having people fill out a little info for followups, and give them a number and send them to wait. well, this guy was not happy to be there, and didn't want to fill it out. he just wanted to ask a couple question he said.
he started arguing with me. he kinda caught me off guard. i guess i raised my voice, he stomped out.
the other volunteer got upset with me, couldn't come up with a clue as to what i SHOULD have said to him. we really weren't set up to just let someone walk up and answer questions, and we were told to fill out the forms for contract purposes.

(17,621 posts)Since this state doesn't have an exchange, and didn't expand Medicare, there just isn't anything much out there, other than financial assistance through the hospital I visited, and through a program called MDWise (maybe). And they wonder why people leave this state.
