On Monday afternoon, America Live host Megyn Kelly spoke with Mark Stevens, the founder of the global marketing firm MSCO and an advertiser for Rush Limbaughs radio program who says his company has been targeted by people who want to put him out of business for his connection to the outspoken conservative host.
Earlier, Limbaugh had addressed the matter on his show, where he said that Stevens believes there is a coordinated attack on his business spearheaded by a group he wouldnt name, but that Limbaugh was happy to Media Matters.
Stevens, for his part, firmly intends to double down against what he describes as an act of internal American terrorism.
You dont have to strap on a suicide bombers belt to engage in terrorism, he told Kelly, Terrorism derives from the term to invoke fear in people. Theyve called my people and my company, theyve called the women at my company, and told them theyre women haters, the most horrible terms. Theyve told me these are tens of thousands of emails, by the way, most of them are positive but the small group theyve told us that were under surveillance. The email subject line says citizen of the internet, police of the Internet, Mark, youre in danger, your house is going to be surrounded by buses, your business is going to be destroyed, your people are in trouble. This is terrorism. Why dont we start calling it what it is?

(397 posts)This is just too rich to be believed! For two decades Limberger and his Pundit Pals have waged a war of social terrorism against the poor, the lower class, the minorities, etc and now that he's finally getting his comeuppance he wants to cry et tu brutei! Cry me a river, Rush! (And drown in it!)

(12,530 posts)MSCO has a client list for the services they offer. Services include market research, advertising, branding, and public relations.
Their client list includes:
Re Max
Wolfgang Puck
Rodan + Fields
Strutz
Zummer Homes
Monster Savings
Cosmalite
OwnAmerica
Chartis
Carbonga
My plan is to encourage as many as possible to tweet, Facebook, whatever, to each of these companies. When I tweet each of these companies, I'm going to ask them why they're getting public relations advice from a company whose CEO called me a terrorist because I don't like Rush Limbaugh being paid huge sums of money to call women sluts.
Oh, and MSCO's slogan (saw it several times on their website) seems to be: Your Company Sucks (but we can make it better).

(1,127 posts)They're great at global marketing, I mean, I have heard of exactly one of those brands (through a Simpsons episode).
I wonder what the cross-over is between Limbaugh listeners and large corporations requiring a new marketing firm. There can't be much, if any, payback from advertising for a lot of these firms, so why are they advertising? Are they just funnelling cash to talking heads to further their own agendas? Surely the company shareholders should be asking questions about the governance of these corporations.

Let's hope MSCO is overwhelmed with emails, phone calls and letters. Let's terrorize the sonsabitches (no offense to canines) even worse than they've terrorized us and I mean all the crappy products advertized on the crap ass show too.

No, the guy is just finding out that freedom of commerce can be bitch when it comes to your company doing business with nasty people. Commerce is apparently only really free in his mind when people buy his stuff. Sorry, pal, the consumer has the complete right to say where they'll spend their money after taxes, and for whatever reason. You're not being terrorized, you just didn't realize this.
I predict somebody's business is going down because his brain is hermetically sealed against this concept.
If you ask me, this guy has a standard of truth as mendacious as Limbaugh's.
