It's time to get over 2008.

The front page of a website supporting Mrs Clinton's 2014 candidacy has the following language, dated March 28:

Back in 2008 Barack Obama was a promising star. Obama promised and promised and promised – stars and unicorns along with pennies from Heaven. It’s been Hell ever since.

And so on. This sounds very much like a recent and rather perplexing OP. The gist of the quoted post is, We elected a charlatan, we were wrong, he failed, it's time to get over Obama. More if you think I'm kidding:

Back in 2008 . . . . Barack Obama was going to “turn the page”. All those pesky old time problems Mess-Obama was about to celestial choir away – along with no more rising oceans and well everything old and bad and soon we would have anti-gravity cars and planes taking us to holidays on the moon and a disco ball in the White House. Well the page has turned alright. We’re now out of the frying pan and into the fire. Elect a boob and you get boobery. Re-elect a boob and you get more boobery.

I won't post the link but I'd be happy to name or send it in a PM. May I politely suggest that fighting old battles is not a productive way to win elections and is not going to help us in 2014? Also, this website is completely out to lunch and appears to be harboring a grudge so huge it obliterates any objective assessment of President Obama's many accomplishments. So my polite and respectful suggestion to all is, it's time to get over 2008. If we don't we're going to be in big trouble next November.

1. 2008 wasn't the problem. It was the 2000 election.

Bush and Fox News have fucked up political discourse in this country beyond repair. They're the reason Congress is bought and sold to the highest bidder. It's not Obama's fault - it's Congress. The republicans run on saying our government doesn't work, get elected and prove it. If Obama had a complying Congress when he was first inaugurated, none of this would be a problem.

For the rest of us it's been incredibly uplifting to have Obama as President.

pointing out everything he's accomplished as reasons to elect another Democrat. This is sophomoric.

Thanks for that eye opener! I usually stay away from this place during primary season, I cannot stand to read this place during the epic in-fighting. Funny...it looks like a lot of the PUMAs are now...barf...republicans!

Yes, it does read like a recent OP here at DU, and pretty much for the same reasons: it's deliberately divisive, with an added splash of deep bitterness.

This kind of crap will not help to elect or re-elect a single Democratic candidate to office.

It's just another right wing pretender website. Why are you bringing this here?

Who cares what a whack-job website has to say?
