(34 posts)This was not a helicopter because the deer would have been scared off long before it turned it's lights on.
What ever it was it wasn't making any noise .

(34 posts)It was told to the public a few days before it was going to be going by earth.
I don't remember the name of it if they gave it one but it happened in 2012 I believe.
It was all over the MSM ,CNN , FOX , MSNBC the whole day ,what was funny it happened the same day that one in Russia hit.
I can research it more to find out the exact day but I'm hoping some here knows it.

(41,938 posts)saw this on the news years ago. Helicopters with special silencing mechanisms were spying on small boats near Iranian waters. Most of the boats were fishing vessels, with no motors, or motors off while they fished. Helicopters descended to mast-top height without anyone on board noticing. Sounds from the boats were easily heard.

There is a price to be paid in speed and maneuverability -- if spotted, the choppers can kill the noise reduction and bug out.
Of course, it might be dirigibles.

(34 posts)And if it was ATV's those deer would have been long gone by the noise of the motor approaching in the middle of the night.
No way those are ATV's

(2,964 posts)This is what happens when you take science out of the schools.
Camera lenses reflect lots of shit.
Odd how the reporter shows how "then it flys away" which we can't actually see since it is a picture which is then shown flying off using camera trickery from the TV station.
As others have suggested it's probably from an ATV.
But maybe what the local officials in Mississippi should do is round up all the deer in the immediate area and check their anus' for any unusual probing other than the usual probing after the bars close on a Friday night.

(38,613 posts)Since they are unable to determine neither size nor distance, it could be insects two feet away from the camera for all we know.

(34 posts)The light is not ground level and the deer were not spooked by noise or lack of it.
You can freeze deer by a light I'm sure everyone knows that.
But when something is above high above ground level and the light shines down from different angles in the field it's not
an ATV driving by.
sufrommich
(22,871 posts)so technically advanced that they can cruise light years through the universe exploring planets are also incapable of grasping simple night vision technology.

(22,871 posts)with their claims. Not only do we not have proof that anything is flying, but we don't have proof that it's anything that could be considered unidentifiable.
In the words of the late great Carl Sagan, " extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence".
azurnoir
(45,850 posts)if it has not been identified it is a UFO, which in this case means weird lights that we can't identify not a spaceship from another planet or some such

(116,020 posts)Deer in my area do not run from us or vehicles. They are quite the traffic and garden hazard. You do not consider these deer may be used to ATVs bringing them food?
As for the bugs not being bugs? Explain please? Or was "watch the video" the explanation? If you have not, google images of "rods" and the explanation of them.
Is this Ray?

(40,569 posts)Sarcasm and snark over simply reporting an unexplained event, is decidedly unscientific.

(2,964 posts)They reported it as a UFO, that it was flying. Instead of going to a local camera shop or the nearest university to ask someone with some knowledge they decided it was something that couldn't easily be explained. Aka, a slow news day.
Watch out for the Spooky Deer Drone!
G_j
(40,569 posts)Which is nothing new for TV news. I would have liked to see an expert in infrared photography offer an opinion. But why ridicule the people? Many folks on this board who claim to love science, seem to display more snark than curiosity.

(17,139 posts)Some loons with too much time on their hands have gotten a drone through some outfit that sells them. They have adapted it to carry bright but light-weight lights around.
It could be some fool outlaw hunters who freeze deer with lights and then shoot them.
Before all of you take off in fits of laughter and snark, not all of the people who live on those back roads are uneducated doofs. My cousin has a masters in microbiology and another has a masters in civil engineering. Even before they got educated, they could repair almost anything and rig up 'interesting' contraptions.
This kind of tomfoolery would be right up their alley. They would love to take that out when some of my relatives who have fewer brain cells venture into the woods and scare then shite out of them.
