Quanell X also clarified that the disagreement began because the three alleged victims saw two Hispanic girls get a to-go cup for their margaritas and leave the premises. When the alleged victims then asked for to-go cups for their drinks, they were informed that restaurant policy forbids alcohol to leave the building. One of the women then asked to see the policy, and the manager told her no. She asked for a refund and he again told her no. When she asked why, according to a video the lawyers released to Fox, the manager replied, "Because you're a bitch."

Quanell X says one of the women then reached over the counter to grab a cup. That's when the manager came around the counter and the physical altercation began.

"My grandmother told me under no circumstances do you put your hands on a woman unless your life is in danger," Quanell X said. "Then you can defend yourself. But my grandmother said it's a cowardly man who will put his hand on a woman. Those are cowards masquerading with male genitalia. Those are not men."




A brawl between three sisters and employees of a southwest Houston restaurant drew out activist Quanell X, who called Sunday for criminal charges against the employees.

Owner John Burke said that he was shocked by the incident, which he said was handled wrongly. He added that he has owned restaurants for more than 30 years and had never had anything like this happen before. The manager of the restaurant has been fired.

However, a demand made by Quanell stands for the termination of the remaining employees who were involved and those who failed to report the incident. Additionally, demands were made for the Harris County District Attorney's Office to file assault charges against those employees involved.

"We want action and we want people charged," he said. "We want people fired and terminated, and we want the corrective actions and corrective steps taken by Chacho's corporate to make sure that they demonstrate to the city and our community that the behavior by their employees was not tolerated, it's unacceptable, and they absolutely seek the forgiveness of our community because what has happened is totally wrong."

Quanell Ralph Evans was born in Los Angeles, California. Both parents were Nation of Islam converts. When they divorced, Evans moved to Houston to live with his mother and younger brother in the South Acres neighborhood, where he attended Worthing High School.[1] Quanell was a drug dealer in the Sunnyside community located in southern Houston, Texas.[2] Quanell served jail time for selling crack cocaine in the Sunnyside and Acres Homes subdivisions in Houston, Texas, in the 1980s.

In 1995, Quanell X was quoted in the New York Daily News as saying,


"I say to Jewish America: Get ready … knuckle up, put your boots on, because we're ready and the war is going down. … The real deal is this: Black youth do not want a relationship with the Jewish community or the mainstream white community or the foot shuffling, head-bowing, knee bobbing black community. … All you Jews can go straight to hell."[5]

Quanell X was forced out of the Nation of Islam for publicly inciting violence with his televised, and highly publicized, exhortation to Houston-area blacks:


"f you feel that you just got to mug somebody because of your hurt and your pain, go to River Oaks and mug you some good white folks. If you’re angry that our brother is put to death, don’t burn down your own community, give these white folks hell from the womb to the tomb."[6]

After leaving the Nation of Islam, Quanell X joined a paramilitary group named "MFOI", for "Mental Freedom Obtains Independence." The new faction was not designed to attract significant exoteric membership.[7] After the MFOI removed Quanell, he joined the New Black Panther Party under the leadership of Khalid Abdul Muhammad and is now a local leader of the organization.[3]

I've worked in food service with some pretty mangy rotten customers at times. Never had to beat anybody up.
