COLBERT pisses O'LOOFAH off so much, it makes the case for him to succeed Dave

I'm not inflicting the video of O'LOOFAH by posting it separately. It's a Choice kind of thing.

Bill O'Reilly: Stephen Colbert Is Destroying America
The Huffington Post | by Jack Mirkinson Email RSS

A few days ago, Stephen Colbert had a bit of fun with some comments Bill O'Reilly made about inequality in America—specifically, the notion that the government caring about inequality in America is a destructive concept.

In response, O'Reilly had a bit of fun of his own in a Talking Points Memo called "More Destruction In America." And who was leading this destruction? Stephen Colbert, of course.

O'Reilly called Colbert an "ideological fanatic" and a "deceiver" and, in a bizarre twist, managing to connect Colbert to recent post-basketball mayhem by a bunch of college students at UConn.

Presumably, Colbert will respond.

I do not think he has an actual, real ideological belief in his body. Just what is best for Bill and what will get ratings.

I don't think that CBS will consider him as he would not attract that part of the audience that he's been making fun of and speaking out on. Just my opinion.

Think about it. What if Dennis Miller was picked as Dave's replacement - would you watch him?

where we have a lot of people that don't understand that. The same ones that shoot themselves in their feet when they vote.

Again - this is just my opinion - but I think CBS execs need to take that into consideration.

which is where his greatness lies. do we really want that?

I doubt they'd recast the Late show as a political satire show like the Colbert Report.

But Dennis Miller just bitterly rants about his conservatism. He is not funny any more.
Not only is Colbert playing a character, but playing a character so brilliantly that a lot of the people he ridicules honestly believe he is a raging conservative - they don't understand that Colbert is playing a character.

edited to add - Currently, I do not watch any of the late night network shows. But I would watch Colbert.

As a 'reporter' on The Daily Show, Stephen was hilarious and did bits that were funny and varied but as a poster below mentioned, Stephen's political views guarantees he will not get ANY late night shows.

running around on fire! Colbert has about 100 IQ points on Blowhard on any given day, good days it is probably close to 200.

Now watch the Grumpy Old Man Child as he really is and realize that he is still the same scared little troll kin, spoiled rotten by garbage TVEE...or as some people call it Inside Edition.

Look at the blinking idiot as he sits clueless in his rage.

My sink-like-rock threads never fail to attract naysayers, but I'll add this to my rather long list of CORRECT (as opposed to "Right&quot judgment and gut calls over the years in the face of chorus of dismissers in every case.

In this my thread from the other day, wherein are found the requisite naysayers. A different thread says she is "upset and confused" I don't see why. And to the others who protested that he is "specific" to a comedic character, I submit that he has never been limited to that specificity, whether at the Correspondents Dinner where he totally obliterated and lambasted the press corps and Shrub, which is not a Character/O'LOOFAH position to take, or in interviews, or in his sister's political campaign.

The news item says he will retire the character-specific persona, fine, although if he wanted to he could do an occasional 3 minute bit.

So this was my wish, if not a PREDICTION, of the other day, and I would LUERVE to see O'LOOFAH's reaction right now.
