All that money to throw around, and still can't get something so simple (like creating the FaceBook page right from the start), right.
A Pro-Gun Group Stole Bloombergs Gun Safety Groups Name On Facebook
Former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg launched a $50 million gun-control campaign called Everytown for Gun Safety. But a pro-gun group took the name for its Facebook page.
Former New York mayor Michael Bloomberg announced on Tuesday the creation of Everytown for Gun Safety, a major gun-control campaign that will combine some of his previous efforts.
But a pro-gun group has already reserved that page on Facebook. The first post the group made proudly stated that it stole the name of Bloombergs group.
And they're not happy about it
Maybe theyd like to duel for it, said Mark Glaze, the executive director of Everytown for Gun Safety. I hear every person on our staff of 85 is a better shot than Wayne LaPierre. Or maybe a bidding war!
Were going through the proper process for transitioning our Demand Action page to Everytown, which takes a few weeks, and acquiring trademark protection for both Everytown and Everytown for Gun Safety. Once that happens, we expect Facebook to shoo these cybersquattters politely off this name/page.

It's kind of like how anybody can set up a totally ridiculous strawman that wouldn't hold together under the massive breeze from a ceiling fan.

(19,497 posts)You've obviously making harsh judgments about people and by your own admission you do not do so from a respect for human life and dignity. I'm trying to imagine how it is you consider yourself to be a better person than those whom you rail against.

(3,381 posts)may rest assured I would piss on him. I would piss all over him and I would ask anyone I was with to piss on him. In fact I would encourage anyone within earshot to piss on him.
As you may have gathered, I don't much care for the policies of the nra or it's supporters.

(9,463 posts)I had not heard of the term "eliminationalist" before your post but just looked it up.
I'm not saying I believe they should be treated as the Jewish people were in the Holocaust. I'd prefer that they be encouraged by various means, such as education or by their idiocy being subjected to popular rejection, to come to their senses, if they have any.
The statement "You're just as bad as they are" is in need of more evidence than my admittedly strong figurative language. I do believe there is a difference in what I feel for RWFCs and what happened to Jews in the Holocaust (and my feelings about that - my ancestors were Lithuanian Jews). Jews were innocent and did nothing except exist in order to incur Nazi horrors. RWFCs, on the other hand, are purposely destroying what could otherwise be a better nation and a better future for all Americans, including our for our kids and grandkids.
I can see where my language could offend some people and I apologize. I will moderate my language with this mind in the future.

No doubt his sham group will reclaim the name and take over the FaceBook page (can't beat a man with 28 billion $$$), but he/they'll still have to live with the embarrassment of getting boot fucked before they even begin.

Shouldn't you be in Nevada "protecting" that thief from the "evil gub'mint" asking him to pay 10 cents on the dollar to graze his cattle on OUR land?

The man with all the muscle and money that thinks nothing about trampling the rights of others, as long as it's in the name of knowing what's best for them.

(774 posts)when you post statements like...
"Same crowd, same stupid mentality.
You support one, you support them all".
while rooting for Mikey and his minions and ignore his other dubious achievements.
My comment of categorizing you (and by default, all gun control advocates), as being in the same crowd as Bloomberg
is the same as your logic of "Same crowd, same stupid mentality. You support one, you support them all".
Difference is, I don't really mean it.
OTOH, maybe you do admire Mikey and all the fine work hes done.
Same crowd, same stupid mentality.
You support one, you support them all.
Really scares you that finally someone with the funds to back it up is in the hunt to bring some sanity into our gun laws, huh?
VScott
(774 posts)It backfired... big time, and look who ended up paying for it.

I doubt it.

NRA exists solely to sell more and more guns to people who dont need them, to people who are afraid of enemies they dont have

(8,747 posts)He set the NYPD on Occupy. He had the NYPD profiling, engaging in Stop and Frisk. Spying on people completely outside the NYPD's jurisdiction. Beating people. Shooting people. He had the NYPD acting like his own group of Stormtroopers.
Played games to get reelected just like Vladimir Putin did in Russia. Telling people what they should drink and eat. In short the classic Authoritarian who think he knows best for everyone else. But because he's taking on the "eeevul" guns he's got a fucking halo.
Fuck him, and everyone of his billions of dollars.

(774 posts)No question Bloomy is as anti gun as they come, but now it's become a deeper more personal issue with him.
The ultra rich and powerful are not accustomed to not having things their way, being told no, being told to go fuck yourself.
He's declared war on the NRA and gun owners not because he believes he's doing society a favor, but because his poor little ego
has been hurt and he feels humiliated that is was done by lower class citizens.
He's a sick, twisted little man with more money than morals.
