"We knew when one went, the other was going to go."

...............................

Helen Felumlee (FEHL'-uhm-lee) of Nashport in central Ohio died April 12. She was 92. Her husband, 91-year-old Kenneth Felumlee, died April 13.

The couple's children say the two met as teenagers and had been inseparable since then.

Their daughter, Linda Cody, says the two were deeply in love to the end.

Cody says her father began to fade about 12 hours after her mother died and told them that he didn't want to leave her by herself.

She says, "We knew when one went, the other was going to go."

Weird. There has to be a scientific explanation and it's clearly a coincidence treestar Apr 2014 #2

Mom died in 2003 in her late 80's after decades of cooking and housecleaning despite suffering from painful rheumatoid arthritis. My dad, a real old time guy who never learned to cook or wash his own clothes, was totally dependent on her both physically and emotionally. They were never outwardly affectionate but we knew her whole purpose in living was to take care of him so that if he went first she would just give up, and if she went first he'd be unable to cope.

It wasn't as dramatic as this couple but within a month after she died, he was gone as well.

Yet at some point you want to say the will to live affected the second person dying so soon after the first.

Those that were alive at that time still get very upset when talking about them.

Toshi passed on in July 2013. She was 91. It was a few weeks before their 70th wedding anniversary.
Pete followed 7 months later in January 2014. He was 94.

They first met back in 1939 - they were married in 1943.

Soul mates.
