...remember he did return to the Democratic fold after Obama was elected, and helped gain the crucial Republican support needed to pass the stimulus and he did support health care reform.

The thing about Lieberman is he loves to be in the spotlight and being a maverick allows him to do that. Regardless, he is a headache and I'll be glad to see him replaced with a more loyal Democrat this November.

Seems like a win-win to me.

I did not watch the Monica Lewinski story, which apparently was Chinless Joe's greatest moment.

I expect he likely would have taken a "maintain the status quo" approach however. Replacing a Moderate with a Moderate, a Conservative with a more Conservative, and so on. Gore was always a compromiser, and Nader believed, rightly or wrongly, that that is no longer good enough.

Don't misunderstand, I am no fan of Nader's refusal to drop out in battleground states in 2000, but I can understand the point he was trying to make.

They are unprovable and subjective. Your OP is as much an example of this as my reply.

Al Gore is a good man. He should have won.

Plus there was the media that cut all of Kerry's best sound bytes while cutting all of Bush's worst sound bytes.

Besides, Gore would have won his second term. And by the way, 9/11 probably wouldn't have happened, as Gore was used to taking Richard Clarke and his team seriously. Unlike Bush and Condi, who ignored them.
