Ten Negative Messages The Republican Party Is Sending To America’s Kids

http://www.addictinginfo.org/2014/04/19/republicans-make-horrible-role-models/

The Republican agenda is destroying the fabric of American society.
Who is really destroying the fabric of American society? Is it the gays with their ‘homosexual agenda,‘ and Disney with their top secret plot to corrupt the minds of all children via cartoon feature films with catchy theme songs? Or is it another segment of society altogether? A segment of our population that teaches American youth that violence is the answer to all problems; one that role models disrespect for everyone, from teachers to the police, to the president; a segment of our population that pretends to be ‘Godly,’ but values wealth more than humanity and role models that truth in everything they say and do?

Republicans are horrible role models for America’s young people. Representatives of the GOP promote an agenda which is racist, classist, sexist, violent and uneducated. And that’s only the tip of the iceberg.

Here are the top ten reasons that Republicans make horrible role models.

It’s OK to degrade women.
1. Sexism.

Try violence first.
2. Violence

Disrespect for authority is good.
3. Disrespect

You don’t have to play well with ‘others’.
4. Racism

Do not get an education.
5. Education

The value of a person is based on the amount of wealth and possessions they own.
6: Materialism: Stuff matters

Don’t give a hoot, go ahead and pollute.
7: Environment: Just throw your trash wherever you want.

Name calling is a good substitute for reasonable debate.
8: Less Than Civil Discourse: This is a constant.

Honesty is not the best policy.
9: Lying:

Say one thing, do another.
10: Lack of Integrity.

The Republicans are horrible examples of human beings in my lifetime and I'm old. It makes me sick to see/hear my friends of many years spewing some of the hate and stupid remarks of the right like they are gospel. They are also flying the, "I'm a patriot...I support the troops...God and Country" crap while turning their noses up at those in need. Their Golden Rule isn't Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You, but Do Unto Others Before They Know What Hit Them." I am ashamed of them and can't believe they were ever my close friends.

They have LONG given up the pretense of trying to portray some sort of justification though their "principles" and have gone all in on engendering the innate greed and selfishness in people.

Being republican is a pretty darn good gig, you can do and say anything and it is OK cause there is the evil liberal to blame for everything.

The foundation of the party is affirming the rejection of any personal responsibility.

I have given up.

I know SO many truly kind, giving and decent people who are 100 percent strident republican's.

The government, for no good reason got involved in getting mortgages and it is so hard now because of the government.
Obamacare this, Obamacare that.

I hear this stuff daily, and most people know my politics and know I think they are nuts about this stuff, but because I accept them for who they are don't try to tell them otherwise, they respect me about it.

You can't convince them otherwise, they just won't believe otherwise, and all you do is lose friends and relationships.

I tried fighting it, but ... It can't be won, it is simply bigger than me/us.

I either change the subject or try to explain away the wrong information they are getting. Much of it goes back to their sources...FOX, Hannity, Rush, etc. Well, that is a disappointment to begin with. My friends are too intelligent to get caught up in this trap, but I don't have the time to deprogram them.

Thank God for the weather. It's a safe subject to avoid politics.

in as great a percentage as the 3 cohorts that preceded them.

I guess starting your life under the burden of massive student debt because wages have been depressed so long that your parents couldn't help much is a great education in unintended consequences of fiscal conservatism.

The problem is, there are semi-rational republican voters
who, thanks to the vast misinformation campaign underwritten
by Koch & friends, see liberals in similar ways. They see
unfair discrimination, irrational anger, govt overreaching,
overtaxing, etc; liberals disrespectful of anyone non-liberal,
on and on. This is an actual point of view and very difficult
to change.

And now the Koch's are attacking from the left.

called Pay It Forward. I was very impressed with the message it sent and have done some of that in the last several years. We give to the local food bank knowing there are others not as fortunate as we are. Of course, that could change tomorrow. We also give to the Innocence Project. While the dollars we send are minimal, the cause is beyond phenomenal. Over three hundred people have been "saved" from a wrongful conviction from years past. Who could ask for more? Yes, these people will never know that my wife and I sent money to help them, but we will know we helped them. When we read of someone else that is saved through the Innocence Project, we just smile knowing the importance of their efforts. This is also true of the local food bank. It doesn't matter who it is, just donate money, time, effort and you will see the results.

We define value by what we have done to help others. As long as we are satisfied with that and know that it is helping others, we are content with our decisions. Are we wealthy? Heck no. We are middle class and happy.

they need more infighting and fracturing on their side. Attacking big money and bible thumpers would help a lot. Tea party appeals to folks who like to be irrationally angry and fearful.
