Now that he's won a confrontation with the Bureau of Land Management over grazing his cattle on federal land, Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy has time to hold court on everything from abortion to the current state of "the Negro." Bundy made some racially charged comments about government assistance in his daily news conference Saturday, according to a New York Times story published Wednesday.
“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” the rancher began as he described a "government house" in Las Vegas where he recalled that all the people who sat outside seemed to "have nothing to do." “And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he said, as quoted by the Times. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”
The Times reached out to spokespeople for Sens. Rand Paul (R-KY) and Dean Heller (R-NV), who have spoken in support of Bundy, and for Texas Attorney Gen. Greg Abbott (R). Those who responded distanced themselves from Bundy and his remarks. A spokesman for Heller, who had called Bundy and his supporters "patriots," told the Times that the senator “completely disagrees with Mr. Bundy’s appalling and racist statements, and condemns them in the most strenuous way.”

This little "oops" on Bundy's part pretty much led to Joe having a "told you so" victory dance with him noting that people are going to start backpedaling pretty fast on any support they offered Bundy.

ETA: I wonder why Clive referenced African Americans. During the 2012 Presidential campaign, Newt Gingrich said that most people on food stamps are not African American. (Yes, Newt.)
Then again, Clive said that he obeys all Nevada laws. Who knew that Nevada has no laws about trespassing, stealing, failing to pay what you owe, shooting law enforcement officers, etc.? Also no laws that so much as recognize the existence of the federal government.
So, maybe Clive is simply full of cow puckies on all topics and should STFU.

As I said before, I cant wait for more federal lands to be liberated by his army of idiots so we can have more rules free places to shoot guns and cook meth and rape some women, and maybe lynch some black people and have country music, and moonshine, and monster trucks, and NASCAR, and 4 wheelers, and burn coal and oil just for the hell of it !
We are going to make this country great again for one last hell raising party before the entire ball of dirt melts down or some asteroid makes it go bye bye and none of it matters any longer anyway .By god.

They know there is something wrong with letting Bundy expose their dark side but they can't help themselves in their giddy Klanish glee. I can't help but wonder if good ol boy Cliven see's the welfare queen in himself when he looks in the mirror. Pay your fees just like the rest of us citizens Bundy or you will pay a forfeiture you may really not like, but pay you will!!

(10,893 posts)tried to kind of walk it back and say that he was talking about the "family unit" of Blacks being looser today than they were during the slave days, but if I'm correct, the slaves were actually regularly split up from their kids, plus marriage for them was illegal. He's got his Black history twisted, there.
