Patriots, Fox-Style

Racism is in the air, Truthseekers, and the stench is spreading. Many could’ve guessed that Sean Hannity’s favorite lawbreaker/surrogate, farmer Cliven Bundy, would ultimately show his true colors – leaving the Baby Jesus (aka Hannity) to stammer and twist and squirm, then claim HE was the real victim of the Bundy scandal. Unreal. Salon has the story:
After promoting Bundy, Hannity is now denouncing the rancher. Media Matters posted audio from Thursday’s “Sean Hannity Show.” There Hannity said, “His comments are beyond repugnant to me. They are beyond despicable to me. They are beyond ignorant to me.”
And then in an effort to explain away his previous unbridled support for the man, Hannity claims he wasn’t stoking the fire of a violent blowout, he was helping defuse the armed situation between Bundy and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management. Right. He believes — and still does — that the BLM was “overreaching” in trying to get the million dollars Bundy owes the government, and wanted to prevent a bloody outcome.
Riiiiiiiiiiiiight . . . . Hannity’s the good guy! He’s so misunderstood. He’s not egging on the racist criminal, he’s just trying to prevent another Ruby Ridge or Waco! He’s a hero mot an instigator!
Gimme a break. The televised showdown between Bundy and the Feds was exactly the incident Hannity and Rupert Murdoch wanted over at Fox “news.” Hannity was poking the bigoted bear as hard as he could – ratings, baby! To Fox “news,” anarchy is its bread and butter, or more appropriately – bread and circuses.
Poor Sean, his plot to make a patriot out of a prejudiced crook, and stage a blowout, blew up in his own face instead. Now he’s whining that those mean ol’ liberals at MSNBC are talking trash about him. He’s the victim here, don’t you understand?
Speaking of delusional blockheads, the wafting cloud of racism can also be traced to Don Sterling, owner of the Los Angeles Clippers. Not surprisingly, Don has no problem “owning” Black men, he just doesn’t want any of them rubbing elbows – or any other body part – with his sweet young girlfriend. Deadspin.com has the audio and the story:
The world will think certain things if you’re seen with black people, he tells his mistress, so you should not be seen with them in public, and under no circumstances should you bring them to Clippers games. He was particularly upset that his girlfriend was posting photos on her Instagram account of her standing with Magic Johnson.
“I’ve known (Magic) well and he should be admired. … I’m just saying that it’s too bad you can’t admire him privately,” the man on the recording says. “Admire him, bring him here, feed him, f**k him, but don’t put (Magic) on an Instagram for the world to have to see so they have to call me. And don’t bring him to my games.”
“Why are you taking pictures with minorities? Why? It’s like talking to an enemy. Hispanics feel certain things towards blacks. Blacks feel certain things toward other groups [...] It will always be that way. [...] It bothers me a lot that you’re associating with black people. [...] You’re supposed to be a delicate white or a delicate Latina girl. [...] You don’t have to have yourself walking with black people.”
How does he square his dim view of black people with the fact that he has an NBA team full of black players? Sterling responds with a breathtaking non-sequitur.
V: I don’t understand, I don’t see your views. I wasn’t raised the way you were raised.
DS: Well then, if you don’t feel—don’t come to my games. Don’t bring black people, and don’t come.
V: Do you know that you have a whole team that’s black, that plays for you?
DS: You just, do I know? I support them and give them food, and clothes, and cars, and houses. Who gives it to them? Does someone else give it to them? Do I know that I have—Who makes the game? Do I make the game, or do they make the game? Is there 30 owners, that created the league?
See! Don’s no racist, he feeds black people! That is, when he’s not trying to get them evicted from his housing units. Yup. In 2009 Sterling had to pay the largest housing discrimination settlement on record for his attempt to keep “smelly” minorities from renting his apartment units.
What a guy. Maybe Hannity can interview Sterling about all this unfairness in media coverage? Two peas in a pod.
