Ted Cruz Blames Gay People For Ruining America –

Texas Senator Ted Cruz is worried about the future of America because of gay people. Well OF COURSE he is. He’s a Texas Republican! When he isn’t busy trying to control vaginas and uteruses, he gets his briefs in a bunch over – THE GAYS!

In the video below, he uses his “look at how gentle and sincere I am face” to complain and blame homosexuals for ruining EVERYTHING!

Oh, Ted. Gimme a break!

I’d like to take this opportunity to remind folks of my gay cousin, Barbara. Last year, while attending her mother’s funeral, Fr. Marcel Guarnizo denied her communion and walked out in the middle of the service. Needless to say, Barbara was crushed. It just so happened that my mother, Ann Werner, broke the story and it spread far and wide. Within days, Barbara was on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell and appeared on various other news programs. Every major news site picked the story up. It became a global story.

Anyone who watched Barbara or read her words, found a gentle and compassionate woman who was eloquent and heartbroken. This priest had seen Barbara’s female partner at the service and decided that she wasn’t worth his time. After he denied her communion in front of our entire family, he said he had a headache and walked out. He accused Barbara’s partner of being rude and made other untrue statements in an effort to defend his heinous behavior. I would like to add that I was not at the funeral but I know Barbara and her partner. I have spoken to family members who were in attendance, including my father, my aunt and various other relatives. The priest lied. And if you think about it for a nanosecond, why would Barbara’s partner of many years be rude to the priest? Barbara’s parents eventually accepted her sexual orientation and embraced and loved them as a couple.

It will come as no surprise that Fr. Guarnizo is an anti-abortion activist. In this video, you can see him proclaiming, “The most dangerous place in the world today is in the womb of a mother. More violent deaths take place there than any other place in the world.” What a lovely guy!

opening night of Colbert late night, for a year we have a website where people pay money to tempt one of these to be willing to go on live tv to be slapped

the slapper is chosen in a contest, the prick being slapped gets the millions we have collected to give to his favorite charity or terrorist politician friend

that nights show would have the highest audience in history

First of all there has never been and there never will be any advocacy as a matter of public policy for religious institutions to bless same-gender relationships or perform same-gender marriages.

The advocacy is all about legal recognition of those relationships as not more, not less but equal to the recognition, benefits and obligations of heterosexual marriage.

As a member of a Protestant denomination I advocate from within my church for acceptance and eventually a permissive approach to allow congregations to solemnize same gender marriages and/or bless the relationships.

No where else in the world to my knowledge has there been a mandate on religious institutions to perform same-gender marriages. In Sweden there was a formal separation of church and state in 2000 with only members paying a state church tax to support the church but with a retained burial tax on all citizens as most Swedes are buried in church cemeteries.

There the Church itself has imposed a requirement on the performing of same-gender marriages. There has been some opposition but in general it has been very smooth. But this was not a result of the political environment imposing this requirement on the church. The church did it itself.

The opposition to marriage equality and recognizing LGBT persons as deserving of the same rights and respect as everyone else is on the wane. The soon to be old, white Protestant minority is dying off. In 20 years people will ask themselves what the issue was with marriage equality and/or why there was a right-wing recoil when Michael Sam was drafted by the St. Louis Rams.

They are losing the culture wars. They have nothing else on which to run.

community has contributed to this country and world-wide advancement. If they only really knew how many of their heros now are still in the closet and how many preach to them every Sunday. If they only knew how many of their own families are living in fear of being outed. If they only knew real history instead of what is taught to them in American schools. If they only knew....maybe they would be depressed and disappear from the public view?
