(12,592 posts)He opted only for radiation to shrink the tumor. It didn't work for long. Cancer is horrible.

Essentially the extremely large number of cells that die (undergo aptosis) can overload the liver, kidneys and the lymph nodes with toxic cell remnants.
If this lady and others like her do not suffer that type of side effect it will, indeed be a great advance.
