General Discussion
Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsI am so $*&#*&% tired of the rethugs always dominating the conversation
with their talking points on whatever happens in government. Alesx Wagner's discussion is now about why Obama is not gnashing his teeth and ripping out his hair publicly over the Veteran situation. To me, the entire discussion should be about why the rethugs are so hypocritical when they voted against legislation to aid veterans. Firing is not going to totally solve the problem that has persisted for years and years. Dems, grow some! I feel like throwing my shoe at the televison. (climbing back from the edge.)

(102,339 posts)I can't even stand to watch MSNBC most of the time--given even they seem to have a penchant for allowing these rabid R's on and allowing them to take over a discussion/show.

(16,850 posts)Republicans than there are for Democrats. I first realized that when that bombing in Beirut killed 200+ soldiers. If Carter had been in office, he would have been blamed for it as if he were one of the terrorists, and there would have been a huge scandal. It happened under Reagan's watch, though, so everybody concentrated on how sad it was.
You see, Republicans are automatically considered to be patriots and Democrats are automatically thought of as subversives, even the ones who served with distinction in the armed forces. All Republicans are doing their best while Democrats are busy trying to destroy America from within. That is exactly what the MSM implies on a daily basis.

(9,748 posts)Is it the long waits because the VA did not have enough money? Or is it some employees lying about the long waits so they could get better raises?
If it's the latter, it is really a fairly minor thing. The ones who lied should be fired. (On edit: the White House isn't going to be the ones firing the lying employees if those employees are civil servants; it will be management in the VA Central Office that fires them.)
If it's the former ... that would be the fault of the people who cut the funds needed for VA care. And there is a name for those people: Republicans.
