Rev Sharpton and the arc of movements

The other day, in passing, he made a critical point. The movement that started under King continues. This is a lifelong movement, with victories and defeats.

So I had to think to one comment from a young occupier..."been three months, nothing has changed." This is one of the divides between the young or new activists and the old salts. Social justice movements are a life long commitment. But given how neatly, insert tv program here, is solved in half an hour, can't blame that young buck. The myth is we can solve all troubles this fast. Life is not a screen play.

As the spring comes, and six months, I expect this realization to finally start to register.

Also the authorities will increase the pressure.

Thanks Rev, I knew that, but you gave very succinct and moving words to it, after your mother passed.

If by karmic coincidence you should read this, thank you.

When I feel up to it. As in healthy enough...but the discussions on how fast change comes has been at times maddening.
