Most bullshit lock ever. Tom Tomorrow is a staple of GD. His topic is incidental to his cartoon.

Now the gun nuts are saying if only his roommates were armed this whole thing could have been avoided. I shit you not.

Sure, why not. When I was a 19 year old college student, I always walked around the house with my pistol on my hip in the event one of my roommates went in to a homicidal rage. In fact, I think my" good guy with a gun" pistol PREVENTED any homicidal rages. An armed society is a don't eat my lunch meat society.

several decades back, he was shot to death by his roommate. Who was drunk and itching to pick a fight.

I often wonder how my brother would have moved forward with his life if his roommate didn't keep a loaded gun, and had resorted to drunken fists instead.

They only hire peons, uh, persons who love the free market and happen to live where it's most profitable for the TNC.

please explain how the free market can be 'free' when Wall Street can play with our economy like a Monopoly game, get away with things like money laundering with no jail time, and rig the system to rip off people who would go to jail if they tried the same thing. Just to mention a few.
Free market, my ass. Pathetic excuse for grand larceny.

...Outside of bizarre Libertarian fantasies, free markets do not exist for any appreciable amount of time. Without government controls for the betterment of all, or the benefit of a few, private entities will always fill the control vacuum for their own benefit, fairness and justice to the rest of us be damned. That's just human nature and has been that way since Sumer and the Pharaohs. It's like the economic concept of equilibrium. It looks nice on paper, but occurs in reality for a fleeting micro second, if ever at all. Today it's simply an excuse for those with power and money to bend over and exploit those without power and money. It's just weasel words for sociopaths and assholes.

All those teabaggers will be out of business. One giant corporation will be all we have. Very soon now. One employer. You teaparty plumbers you teaparty carpet store owners, you teaparty any kind of small business are through. Just like the local stores you will be extinct. You local beer shops better get ready to roll over too because they are going to legislate you out of business very soon. No more independent businesses will exist.
There used to be, not long ago, thousands of independent radio stations all across America and you could buy a transmitter and start your own and have a great business.
There were little candy stores/delis in every neighborhood. You cant even buy your fishing licence
at the bait store anymore, you have to go to Wallmart.
Pretty soon wallmart will own everything the kochs dont own.

Could be Totalitarianism may have been the real winner of the Cold War after all. My understanding is that representative government is an anathema to unfettered Capitalism. The United Corporate States of America...
