The birds are singing!

I woke early this morning and sitting here drinking my coffee in the early light I am delighted at the birds singing in the woods… thank you Rachel Carson!

1. Always puts a smile on my face

Since I pretty much don't sleep, I'm almost always up when they start. I live being in a somewhat rural location where it's fairly quiet and pretty much everything is green. There is an amazing variety of species even got to see a bald eagle at 100 feet.
This year is the first in a long time I see tons of yellow finches. I think I'm starting to take after my old man, love the birds. Don't think I'll ever get to the point where they land in my hand.

2. Early morning birdsong.

One of my favorite times. Peaceful yet you hear the stirrings for the day ahead. I'm always up at this time. Late risers really don't know what they are missing.

7. We have a Baltimore Oriole that has a 5 note song, and I really hate to say this, but,

I'm sick of hearing it..... it was so beautiful at first, now, it's over and over the same 5 notes all day, everyday. ENOUGH ALREADY.... I'm hoping he finds a mate and gets on with his life. Sheesh.
