(20,600 posts)That thread reminds me of BOG threads posted in G-D where its all about the adorable pictures of Obama. Nope, no agenda there. (sarcasm)
I trashed that thread on the title alone when I saw it.
Regarding the Snowden interview, I'm very much looking forward to watching it on youtube eventually, when its posted. That and the recent Frontline USA secrets program. I will make it a double header!

(45,274 posts)I'm just fed up with threads of all kinds about the whole Snowden/GG character debate. (No "GG" is not intended as some crypto-homophobic reference. I't the guy's initials, dammit.)
And if it's any comfort, I don't use any of DU's exclusionary features for either individuals or threads.

(62,325 posts)by Brian Williams who I expected less of to be honest. A few editorial comments from him, but mostly I got the impression he wanted to conduct a fair interview.
Snowden did extremely well, imo. We did have a few odd interruptions here with ads popping up in strange places, but we saw enough to confirm that this is a patriot who loves his country and took any oath he took seriously. Only those with an agenda could doubt that he did the right thing.
His challenge, AND Williams' to the government, to produce evidence of harm done AND from Williams, to produce the paper trail Snowden states exists, of his attempts to get attention for the wrong doing he observed, BEFORE deciding on leaking information, SHOULD result in a response, but will it? We shall see.
As for the desperation of the supporters of the Security State, that is expected I suppose.

Isn't it curious that the Head Anchor, on arguably the top Network News Broadcast...
Flew hisself all the way to Russia, to interview Snowden, to put in an exclusive Prime-Time slot...
For somebody who just exposed what everybody already knew.

(62,325 posts)when Williams said that what Snowden explained to him regarding what they were able to do even with his phone, 'was chilling', he meant it.
Maybe even the old Corporate Media are beginning to see how dangerous this all is and that it doesn't matter if they have been 'good soldiers' for the Corporate State, it won't exempt them from the massive attacks on their own 4th Amendment rights. Sometimes people have to be personally affected before they see the threat.

I'm surprised nosense wasn't there.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Rude, juvenile call out. Poster thinks he's being clever with the "nosense" nonsense, so tired of the petty ankle-biting.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Thu May 29, 2014, 07:50 AM, and the Jury voted 2-5 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: what a waste of an alert.
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #3 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: Disruptive and unprovoked personal attack. Posts insulting other DUers or subsets of DUers may feel 'clever' and 'fun' to the poster, but they add nothing of value to the site, and do nothing to advance a productive discussion or foster a positive tone.
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #5 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #7 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: KI needs a time out.
Thank you very much for participating in our Jury system, and we hope you will be able to participate again in the future.

(9,463 posts)am I one of the 4-5 posters talking to myself?
I stepped into the Snowden debate for the very first time yesterday leading up to and including the interview, in order to bring myself up to date on the issue, which I had heretofore had little interest due to the contentious debate surrounding Snowden.
So, please tell me, what is this thread about?
Is it about meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee....? (Since I discussed it in the referenced thread?)

(37,549 posts)the more nuanced position that Snowden is full of shit, AND the NSA must be tightly controlled.
So thank you for participating in my thread in a thoughtful, thought-provoking manner.

(9,463 posts)my stance on the Snowden affair, I think he is full of shit, if I'm to go strictly from last night's interview. And I think the NSA shouldn't be breaking the law and spying on American citizens. And I really don't give a shit who doesn't like it.
Also, I find it curious that you're the only person who has responded to my post.

I consider the source of the allegations. That doesn't mean I think the NSA is peachy...it means I take a hard look at who is making the allegations.
The behavior towards you on this thread is, unfortunately, typical.

(9,002 posts)This boneless pork loin is easy to prepare and cook in the slow cooker. It's flavored with pineapple and sweet and sour sauce ingredients and spices.

(9,002 posts)SERVES: 6 - 8
INGREDIENTS
3 tablespoons paprika
2 tablespoons salt (if desired, you can cut back on the salt by only using 1 tablespoon)
2 teaspoons black pepper
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper (if desired, you can cut back on the pepper by only using ½ teaspoon of cayenne)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon dried thyme
½ cup honey
¼ cup red wine vinegar
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 onion, peeled and cut in half
3 to 3 ½ pounds pork shoulder, cut in half
INSTRUCTIONS
In a medium size mixing bowl, mix together the first six ingredients (all of the spices) with a fork.
Pour in the honey, vinegar, and olive oil and stir to form a paste.
Place the onion in the bottom of the slow cooker. Top it with the 2 pieces of pork and then pour the honey paste over all sides of the pork pieces. Its okay if some of it (or a lot of it) just drips down to the bottom.
Turn the slow cooker on to low and cook for 7 to 8 hours or until the meat is tender enough to be easily shredded with a fork.
Serve warm with fixings like homemade cole slaw and cornbread. My husband also likes his dipped in a little hot sauce. Refrigerate or freeze the leftovers.
NOTES
We recommend organic ingredients when feasible.
Autumn
(48,962 posts)work just as well as pork shoulder. I'm shocked that you are posting recipes that I have all the ingredients for. Do you by chance work for the NSA? The reason I ask is I have a grocery list app on my phone and it's like you know what I have on hand, if you do I did accidentally delete a video on my phone I wanted to keep.
just kidding about the last part, the pork and grocery list is true.
