(16,286 posts)it is a surprise they are not planning to execute him the instant he sets foot on land...
America is badly broken and it is 100% the fault of the right.

(6,324 posts)Odds are he won't be anywhere near his hometown soon, and odds are he likely isn't in any shape mentally to be in a parade right now.
Probably a bit premature for them to already be planning one anyway.

(20,600 posts)If it turns out the soldier is charged with desertion or dereliction of duty, the hometown celebration would look a wee bit foolish.

The pettiness and inhumanity of these critics is glaring.

(8,694 posts)Charles Graner, the sadist torture freak leader of Abu Ghraib, only served 6 years in prison, and I think his actions probably cost more American lives than this kid.
Bergdahl was imprisoned for 5 and 1/2 years. I think at most, his crime was going AWOL that night. He didn't abandon his post, he did his watch, was relieved and instead of going to bed, he left the base, and was captured.

(7,720 posts)of Bowe Bergdahl? If they expected him to be there, they were premature in announcing such a celebration.
