(23,973 posts)When did that ever happen before?
Gore isn't my exact cup of tea, and Olbermann seems to be stuck at age seventeen.
I vote "Meh".

(6,440 posts)That "I don't like Al Gore" is not a scientific argument against global warming shouldn't even need pointing out, but sadly, our discourse has degenerated to the point where it has to be repeated over and over again.

(24,857 posts)When the SCOTUS handed Gore's win to GWBush, Gore accepted it & went away quietly.
When members of the House of Representatives took turns going to the microphone to gather up support for condemning the SCOTUS's decision, Al Gore used his gavel to dismiss those -- his supporters! -- who ran overtime in their comments.
If we're going to pit one against the other, I'll take the one who doesn't put up with injustices.

(1,259 posts)I like both Gore and Olbermann, though both can be tedious to listen to for an extended time.

(37,648 posts)His house used a LOT of energy, but comparable to other large homes in his area in TN. Since then, he's installed solar panels and done some other things, so it uses less than other large homes in his area.
It will always use more power than the avg home because it's a mansion and much larger than the avg home. I'd argue that having a mansion is unnecessary, but that's a different issue.

(37,648 posts)His house used about the same energy as the other large homes in his area, plus he purchased some of his energy from green renewable sources, lessening the carbon footprint (which is what really matters).
A while back the Gores installed solar panels, which brought their energy usage down even farther.
Now the Gores' home uses considerably less non-renewable energy, as well as total energy, than other large homes in his area in TN.
I'd argue that no one needs a mansion like that, but that's a different issue.

(31,706 posts)I also admire the work Vice President (President) Gore has done as well as that of Keith Olbermann. Just like other creative and driven people, they are complicated...not all sunshine and not all darkness. Unfortunately things didn't work out. Be it personalities or "professionalism" or whatever the bottom line is that KO is out and Current looks to move on.
For those who want to find some nefarious reason or try to pit personalities...knock yourself out. This is a business thing...a venture that was attempted in the best of intentions that didn't work out. Why? Does it matter now? I wish KO good luck and hope he takes some time to get a perspective on what happened as well as his own place in the broadcasting universe (clue: no one is bigger than the whole) and maybe he'll resurface somewhere.

largest users of electricity in the entire state." Right wing talking point that
is not true. Did you get that from Red State or the Daily Caller?

That's what you reduce these two to?
And what have you done on the planet today, since clearly yesterday doesn't count?
