What the Hell has Happened to HuffPo?

First, it "merged" (read: was taken over by) AOL, and now it's being controlled by Facebook. Go to HP and try to make a comment on the site itself: In 90% of cases, you are confronted with Facebook Conversations rather than a simple "add a comment" that used to make HuffPo easy to access.

I hate Facebook, okay? I don't like Zuck the Fuck, or whatever token female (whose name I can't honestly recall at the moment) he has on the board to disguise the goddam sausage-fest going on there. We need to collectively stand up to this corporate "social" network and tell it where it can shove itself. Ironically, younger users are doing exactly that, steadily sending Facebook the way of MySpace. I strongly suggest that we follow their example!

I imagine a lot of the non-troll types at HuffPo will be looking for new digs. I notice there's a new group over at Daily Kos set up by somebody who just left HuffPo and wants to still be able to have substantive convos, rather than simply commenting on preselected stories.

I will never have a facebook account. Never.

And, in case that was a typo, try http://justdelete.me/ It's not all that easy, but it can be done. Just follow the not so easy steps and you'll be rid of them.

and a quick look at their business model discouraged me from opening an account there, even as Minnie Mouse, just so I could post on HuffPost and other sites. It's just not worth the intrusive nature of the beast.

HuffPost isn't the only one who's been Farcebooked. However, considering how long most stuff on the net lasts, it's only a matter of time before somebody designs an even more efficient data mining system marketed as "free" to the suckers and Zuck the Fuck is left counting his billions on whatever Caribbean island he buys.

Now it sits idle, as I've deleted my HP account in disgust. And I'm not the only one. When the "Facebook Conversations" crap came up, a community pundit over there up and quit, leaving 1,026 followers behind.

her in California. Nothing much has changed. She's still a Republican and Huffington Post is an unreliable source. Why anyone goes there, I do not know.

I hate when people here post links to it. Every time I click, it takes a good minute to load OR it instantly freezes everything up. It doesn't seem to matter which browser either. My computer just plain hates it.

Anyway, I remember when she sold it - tons of people mentioned how it was going to totally change. And it has. And just like everyone said - not for the better. She doesn't care, she's laughing all the way to the bank.

There was an article about a women who spread her labia on the floor of a museum as performance art in front of an actual painting for similar female genitalia.

HuffPo is tittilating current events and that's about it.

I do not have a Facebook account and I refuse to get one because I believe Facebook is dangerous. If I have to endanger my life to comment on your site, I will cease visiting your site completely.

It really has become tiresome with all your intrusions into the free expression of adults. So all you children can get hysterical about whatever the Kardashians, Miley Cyrus, and all the attention whores you promote, without me.
