(37,478 posts)I was - and that's why I didn't register here until 2007!
Wait until the primaries - hang in there. The difference between wanting and getting is sometimes an ocean.
Watch how we gather around the candidate come the 2016 election. Doesn't matter who - and that is still a wide open field. Because see - if Joe Biden runs I'm supporting him.
Nothing to indicate if he WILL run - but that's my guy in 2016.

(37,478 posts)And regardless of our candidate is - I'm not voting for any one of those assholes the Koch's are going to try and prop up.
We all need to watch the old Robert Redford flick - The Candidate. It's awesome. Just awesome!

(21,115 posts)Defense. And even Bernie Sanders said we HAVE to defend the progress we have made....speaking of Obamacares. Some here have no interest in defending that oddly enough!

Full disclosure: I supported Joe in 2008 after Denny Kootch dropped out of the primaries.

(27,787 posts)If you don't want Hillary to be President, you probably should have gotten busy back in 2012 trying to build up some other alternative candidate.
Getting all worked up about Hillary being the front runner now, is a little late.

(531 posts)I refuse to continue to be part if something I do not support
Those who support an oligarchy will vote for and support Hillary and continue Being a part of the Democratic Party those of us who who do not support the oligarchs will vote for someone else and some will leave the party in protest too
But it does not matter our votes and money are not needed that has been made abundantly clear by many posters already.

(21,115 posts)Or did you not mean to insult Democrats in general?
I take it you just admitted you are not one?

(8,830 posts)just for members of the Democratic Party - nor was it ever intended to be.
Point in fact, the poster who probably prompted this OP (Moon River's Kreskin-like pronouncement that Hillary will win the primary and the election) clarified that they are an Independent.

As far as supporting Democrats, the rule that the Owners of this website have decided is correct reads:
Emphasis is mine - but please note the bolded sections.
I realize that as the election season approaches, the desire to purge all but approved commentary will increase - but this is 2014, not 2015 or even close to 2016. Neither party has selected its candidate nor even held its primary.
You're jumping the gun on forcing the straight and narrow.

(13,986 posts)...to evaporate because you feel annoyed, I question how much support you'd be in any case.
I am a hard-core Truman-Era Dem, and as such I almost NEVER get my way in politics. But I don't run away, gnashing my teeth in despair: no, I channel my frustration into activism.
A few Clintonites cannot really drive you away: you are choosing to take yourself away. Admit it, own it.

(5,420 posts)too fucking bad, quit whining, it's Hillary. It kind of makes one feel like ones vote doesn't count even with dems, even here.
It does tend to piss one off.
I doubt there will be many who won't vote dem, no matter who is the winner. It's just don't fucking even act like there is something democratic goin on, then tell us too fucking bad, quit whining, Hillary wins, no matter what you think.
It's pretty fucking insulting coming from non republicans.

Now, let me go look for some suitable cover for what looks like nuclear war. Better start digging I say.

Can you point to the thread/posts that have annoyed you? Or is it just that 69% of DUers in a DU ("Disclaimer: this is an Internet poll"
poll said they want Hillary as the 2016 candidate?

(3,580 posts)were my choices in 08 but I wound up voting for Hill in my primary because my #1 choice had dropped out by then and vote for Obama in the GE. I will vote for the dem nominee in 16. I am a democrat, I have never voted gop in a state or national election and as the gop devolves, the chance of that happening before I die grows less likely.I will draw the line at voting for Jim Webb though.
