folks, the Primaries are at least six months from now. We do not know who is running YET. We have a slew of POSSIBLE candidates
Hillary Clinton. ...
Joe Biden. ...
Andrew Cuomo. ...
Beau Biden. ...
Martin O'Malley. ...
Deval Patrick. ...
Kirsten Gillibrand. ...
Cory Booker.
Mind you, NONE of them has declared, And this list is all but complete.
I have been covering races since 2010. I know that primaries are exciting, and that they are always surprising. So really, I am not advocating for any of these candidates. I know a few of them by name. I know a couple by policy ( and don't particularly care for them), but serious, the process has not even started.
If you want to advocate for one of the people on this list, by all means. But threatening people or talking of inevitable candidates is a poison to whatever remains of democracy.

(154,021 posts)my informed opinion, I do not like Cuomo, and I think his chances are not very good, but that is at this point... I will give the process a chance. (And he is just a possible, bandied about, who has yet to declare)

(20,049 posts)It's a long way off and once it gets here we'll have plenty of time to rip each other to shreds in "The Great DU Primary War of 2016."
Until then I'm busy this year with 2014, which isn't shaping up all too great in case anyone is interested.

(39,897 posts)The Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primaries traditionally kicked things off, and are tentatively scheduled for January, 2016. Is there a primary scheduled in 2015 I don't know about ?

(39,897 posts)In the three most recent presidential elections in which there was no incumbent on the ballot, the six candidates who won their party's nomination and ran in the general election launched their campaigns an average of 526 days before the election took place.
That's about one year, five months and 10 days before the presidential election took place.
If the candidates expected to seek the presidential nomination for 2016 follow that pattern, they will begin announcing campaigns around June 1, 2015. In fuzzy numbers, that's a year from now and six months before Iowa and New Hampshire.
