(90,017 posts)My husband said our windstorms here in SoCal probably contributed to the turbulence in Texas now. He was a pilot before we had kids, and studied the weather - A LOT. He's still the best weather-caster I've ever known!
My boys are headed that way tonight. My son and his band starts a tour with Candlebox in Shreveport LA on Friday and they're gonna be staying over with my best friend, in Fort Worth, on Thursday. My friend said the tornadoes are all east of where she lives, and that everything has passed them by. But she was concerned about hailstorms that the local forecast had said would include baseball-size hail.
VenusRising
(11,252 posts)There was one point during all the thunder that I thought I heard the tell-tale sound of a train, but heard no sirens. I was trying to figure out through a hazy sleep how fast I could grab the cat and get the mattress in the hallway. Thankfully, it turned out to be wind and rolling thunder.
I hope your boys have a safe trip. It sounds like they are going to be having a lot of fun!
I also hope your friend fared well. I was a bit too north and west of the storms, so we just got thunderstorms.

(90,017 posts)He evidently decided to keep the party at the house, about which we're all quite pleased. They had no damage or any adverse conditions. The tornadoes didn't come near her part of town. At the moment, I'm told, the weather's fine, the roof survived, and everybody's pretty darn pleased and excited about the tour - which starts TOMORROW!!! WOOHOOOO!
VenusRising
(11,252 posts)I hope the tour is a smashing success for them!
