Animal rights campaigners outraged as Texas cheerleader poses alongside the animals she kills

Global animal lovers are up in arms over a teenage Texas girl's love of killing big African game, so much so that they're even demanding she be banned from posting pictures of herself smiling alongside her trophies online.

Nineteen-year-old Kendall Jones claims photos of dead hippos, elephants, lions and other beasts on Facebook are a testament to her hunting skills and dedication to game preservation.

But critics are appalled by the teen's beaming social media and are calling Kendall sick and depraved for killing the rare animals and boasting about it online.

Not just animal lovers, but anyone with a conscience should be outraged.

These animals are endangered!

on edit: I would strongly consider putting a graphic warning on this. These pictures are deeply disturbing. Just suggesting, I'm glad you posted this thread.

There are two subspecies ofvwhite rhinos, the northern subspecies that is basically extinct ( there are seven left, 4 of them can breed) and the southern species which is threatened (~17k in wild).

She is a horrible entitled person.

Really. That's her rationalization, as given in the article, for killing the elephant.

Not like she could have done more just by taking the hundreds of thousands of dollars spent in these hunts and using that to fight hunger and other problems.....

She wants to preserve the 'game' of shooting animals needlessly.

There is nothing 'conservation' or 'preservation' about shooting animals.

Simply another repulsive, self-centered ass who will happily help drive species into extinction for the temporary 'pleasure' of slaughtering them and putting their carcasses on her walls.

since it's a woman there is this awesome double standard, because we all know women can't possibly enjoy hunting and her only purpose in life is to be pretty for a man.

And about her hunting, good for her, it's not my thing but who am I to say she can't do something that is legal and enjoy it.

People do this crap all the time, only time it makes the DU radar is when it's a famous person or someone who paid an outrageous amount of money for the hunt. The only reason Trumps son was mentioned on DU was well because it was Trumps son. If it would have been Mr. Mailman's Son no one would have given a shit.

And the only reason people are up in arms about this Girl is because they think she is attractive and should not be hunting.

If you have some sort of beef about discrimination it should be with them. I would guarantee if someone posts pics of happy hunters posing with the corpses of endangered animals they have just slaughtered, it will generate outrage. There was an article about an auction to kill a rare Rhino, a few months back, for charity; that too generated outrage.

I get venison from them since i rarely hunt myself. I think it is great that they are doing a "man's " activity.

I have zero issue hunt for food, even if the hunters have options such as a grocery. Most who do it, that I know, also donate to conservation groups. Sometimes it is even sadly needed to kill other animals such as lions because human actions have so messed up a biome that intervention is needed to keep it from getting even worse.

However trophy hunting, for nothing more than self aggrandizement is just disgusting. Age and gender do not matter.

She wants to hunt-fine. She wants a show-ok. Make it into something positive, not a slaughterfest

I've seen people posing with their kills many times on FB and just what is this supposed to prove? You're tough? So tough to lay in wait and then kill an animal with a weapon. Now to make it sporting I suggest you go after a lion unarmed.

but she is part of some conservation efforts there as well- BURN HER AT THE STAKE LOL

We hunted Leopard in a Communal Lands area of Zimbabwe where leopard had killed 107 head of cattle over a single year. There are many parts of Zimbabwe where there is an abundant population of Leopard that wreak havoc on the livestock of the farmers in the village. Instead of the villagers killing the leopard to prevent livestock damage, permits are sold to hunters to do this for them. By selling the permits, not only is a problemed animal taken care of, but the money for the permit goes back into the community for water wells, schools and community improvements. These people in this area live in mud huts and have no electricity, the money derived from hunting is badly needed to help just provide the bare necessities such as water and shelter. All of these people pretty much work on a barter system of trading crops, chickens, goats and cattle between eachother to live throughout the year. After 14 days of hard hunting, getting up at 3am, walking miles upon miles cutting tracks, I finally took my leopard. This is most definitely the hardest hunt I have ever been on. Thanks Comre Safaris for this experience of a lifetime.

Here is the S African Vet administering treatment to the White Rhino I darted during the Green Hunt. The vet drew blood, took DNA samples, took body and head measurements, treated a leg injury and administered antibiotics. I felt very lucky to be part of such a great program and procedure that helps the White Rhino population through conservation.

I hate this big game hunting and its hunters. I don't get killing for sport. If you do it to have venison on your table and in your freezer I can understand that but these people are taking lives for the fun of the kill. Very disturbing.

I wonder if she harmed small animals when she was young, a true path to serial killing if there ever was one.

I wasn't even aware you could legally kill elephants, can she harvest the tusks, too?

She was influenced by her father who hunted African big game and she apparently started to go with him when she was 9 years old.
