as other federal judges are held to. This means that SCOTUS members couldn't be taking all expense paid trips and speaking honoraria from Koch Brothers type political activist organizations for speaking to their politically activists groups on how to thwart the law and get your bogus politically activist case heard before the SCOTUS. SCOTUS members deciding for themselves whether or not they should recuse themselves from cases in which they have a conflict of interest without any fear recourse for failure to do so.

(3,335 posts)At least if we as a nation applied pressure to force them to accept the same rules that every other federal judge has to, or paint them as the illegitimate court that they are, it might force John Roberts to change his courts ways so as not to be so blatently obvious about the fact that they have an agenda which in not necessarily one which is in the best interests of America as a whole, but one only of a small fringe element of it. If people became active enough, like the gun toting Tea Partiers did, people incuding the SCOTUS would stand up and take notice. Maybe a few of them would even have a heart attack as some here were wishing. Right now, they're counting on the Democratic Party's lack of in your face activism which is why they will continue to do what they are doing until things begin to get a little uncomfortable for them to continue business as usual.
It has been said that John Roberts cares about his legacy that he will leave on the SCOTUS. Well maybe a little Tea Party style activism might make him reconsider what that legacy will be.
