Chum seems to be particularly expert about pinball machines, and they are a complex and esoteric topic.

Drove by the Gold and Silver when I was in Vegas for CES in January but there was a huge line of people waiting to get in so we didn't stop. A colleague of mine sold a whole bunch of games and toys to Johnny at the Toy Shack a few blocks away. Johnny's a nice fellow.

i guess my beef isn't specifically with ventriloquism than a sort of fixation on rated-G, family entertainment. there are always exceptions, of course.

still there seems to be a difference between entertainment in red states (or maybe it's rural areas) and entertainment in and around large urban metropolises. maybe it's a local thing? but i don't doubt conservative christian values have some play in it.

He had a clause in his contract that Moe couldn't "hit" him. What the hell good is a Stooge that can't be smacked around by Moe?

He just plays a southern redneck. Either way - not funny.

According to a CMT bio, Whitney grew up on a pig farm in Pawnee City, Nebraska. He went to college at the now defunct Baptist University of America. He credits his roommates from Texas and Georgia for inspiring his imitation Southern accent. He dropped out after his junior year after trying his hand at comedy.

Then he said one time Pres Bush saw him and said that to him.

Thu Apr 5, 2012, 10:11 AM
Apr 2012

sure, in many stereotypes, there is a grain of truth, but more importantly there are countless individuals who dont fit them AT ALL

after putting forth decades of these stereotypes, and making people unsympathetic towrd them, working people got a baseball bat starting in the early 1990s with NAFTA

in the 1980s, the image of tech consultants was the 'grey or blue suited IBM mold'

but then came the media stereotype of 'nerd' 'geek' or Americans who did study math and science, and the 'fat and 'lazy' of those who didnt

the baseball bat was not far behind

those you wish to destroy, you first belittle
