Some good news for Slavyansk on July 6, 2014

Residents receive food from employees of the Emergency Ministry near City Hall in the eastern Ukrainian city of Slavyansk on July 6, 2014. Government forces hoisted the Ukrainian flag over the pro-Russian rebels' main stronghold of Slavyansk on June 5 after flushing them out of the eastern industrial city, the defence minister said.

A good start that the government is getting food and aid to the city.

They're also getting pensions and state benefits to the town now. From time to the those with greater "need" would knock off the armored cars, raid the banks or take over the post office and so the government stopped transferring public assistance and retirement benefits to the town administration apparatus. Some reports said that there was food but no money to buy it.

Kharkovsk oblast' is going to help get the electricity back up. Water should be forthcoming--part of the problem is lack of electricity at the pumping stations. The Slavyansk TES had a bit of a problem--it's pretty much ruined.

Some pipelines were also shot at. Intentionally. But those should be easy fixes, the main disaster was taken care of, IIRC.
