The heartwarming moment a four-year-old boy was embraced by his classmates after taking a week off school has been caught on camera.
Tyler James from Duluth, Georgia, is seen in a cell phone filmed video being showered with hugs and cheers from his excited peers as he walks into the school classroom.
His father, Shawn Harris, who captured the reunion take place, was delighted with what he saw.

A chorus of tiny voices then start chanting, 'Tyler! Tyler!' and one girl rushes over to give him a big hug.
'Tyler! I like your haircut!' she exclaims as she rubs his head.

(12,336 posts)Her best friend is a mixed race girl. Her "second best" friend is a white boy. A little (and I mean little) African-American kid taught her to bust some cool dance moves. So no, we are not born racist, it is pounded into our brains by stupid people. Btw, if it really matters, I'm Caucasian.

(12,405 posts)The video of this is amazing and brought back memories when kids were bused from other schools when I was in 5th grade.
I was so excited about new kids coming to our school I waited right there and greeted every one of them. All I could think was YAY! More kids!!! They were nearly all black kids.
There were albino black kids, kids with scars, kids with freckles and red hair. Kids that were funny, kids that were hams, kids that were serious and kids that were shy.
It was AWESOME. Racism was nowhere to be found. We were all little bitty kids!!!! And there were a lot more of us than teachers so we ruled! : )
To this day I couldn't be more grateful for the public grade school I attended due to the kids and the wonderful teachers, also mixed.
It was when we went to junior high school the kids started to self segregate and racism was evident. We were coming in and there were older kids and feuds, plus puberty was messing with all of us. I never did and never will tolerate the racial slurs thrown around. As I did then, I still tell anyone who uses that crap to stop and never to use it again, then I tell them why and don't let them get away with excuses until they get it. If they don't get it or want to get it then that's it. They are not welcome in my life.
I had a pretty good run and stayed friends with my schools buddies. Unfortunately, some of the black kids who I didn't go to school with weren't fond of me hanging out with others and tried to mess with me but my friends came to my defense and I was left alone for the most part. Lots of fights though between every race but mostly black and white kids.
Every kid should have the opportunity to be with every kind of kid there is especially during K-6 if not longer. It's humbling, exciting and so incredibly enriching. In everyday life when I meet people, I still have a bit of that little welcoming kid inside of me.
loved, loved, loved the video!
