1. I worked that cash register in high school.

That was back in the day when you really had to know how to subtract and to make change.

6. Eventually I got fired because I was $7 short one shift.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday 9 Am to 6 PM
Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9 AM to 9 PM
Closed Sunday

How did we survive??

7. Mine was Food Fair.

While I was ringing them up (i suppose you'd say scanning today), I would look at what the people were buying, then look at the people, and string stories together in my head about them.

8. The cash register I used had a big push button thingy on the right side...

that replaced the crank.

2. Sure - I was a kid in the 70s

and had one of those viewmasters. Probably worth thousands now on eBay!

I also remember the Hamburgler and the rest of the gang. I had a Ronald McDonald trash can bank
