For me, it's John McCain. There's something about that man that really gets to me. Part of it is his lionization in the press- war hero, blah blah blah POW blah blah blah. He plays both ends against the middle. He's a crass opportunist. He's hateful. Maybe I should pick someone much younger than the elderly McCain... nah.

(12,159 posts)John Roberts Jr., Samuel A. Alito Jr., Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Anthony Kennedy. Any of the 1st 4; if not Kennedy. It would be nice if 3 of these would step down and President Obama could appoint 3 more justices including a chief justice.

(12,159 posts)The founders hoped that the courts would be more impartial but presidents appoint those who are in tune with their politics. Not sure how to make that better.

(17,111 posts)There are many I dislike, but most of them are 'sound and fury.' They vote with the noxious RW, but they are devoid of any intelligence.
Cruz, on the other hand, is smart and has learned the tricks of Senate procedure that can tie up that body. He's willing to take down anybody and the government.
While he is leading the GOP further right which further marginalizes them, the harm he is doing is real and causes great harm to many. The RW would continue without him to march right. I haven't seen any other person in the Senate with his ability to carry out damaging moves and bring a whole group with him that is large enough to monkey up the works.
