I didn't make it up, and I wasn't endorsing it! My mistake was not using the "sarcasm" tag when I first posted. By the time I'd corrected my error, 'twas alas too late.

And then he posted this same OP on Saturday to complain about the Hide and it was locked as META.

(1,933 posts)It's so annoying when people use acronyms with no explanation for what they mean.

(146,284 posts)is discussion of the discussion. It's allowed on DU, but not when it's complaining about a hidden thread, generally. The Statement of Purpose (SOP) for the General Discussion forum prohibits "whining about DU." YOu can see the SOP by clicking the About tab on any forum's thread list page.

(11,833 posts)usually by starting a new thread about it to complain about something that happened here. That's probably not the best definition but I wanted to reply to your post. Maybe someone else can define it better. But I agree, there's way too much acronym use. Usually I try and figure out what it is, like you did here. Sometimes there's so many acronyms that I just kind of laugh and say to myself 'they must be talking in code' lol. Have a good day.
Some people (rightly) felt the context and images were misogynistic, because the photos were straight outta Penthouse. My failure was in not making it clear from the outset that I was deriding the misogyny.

(236 posts)I did not support the idiots who were engaged in this exercise, but, as I've already acknowledged, the manner in which I presented it was just plain dumb.

The link isn't the problem, btw. It's the comments about the hidden post
