I don't speak of it on FB because I have Jewish friends who are on both sides, and I have a few Palestinian friends who just want to be friends. It's wrong. I'm glad my church divested. All I keep thinking of is that you would think a people who had been under extermination would not turn into ones doing the exterminating, then I think I must not know enough about it because I haven't delved into their history, etc. To me (strictly my opinion), it seems their fight would be with the people of Hamas and not all Palestinians, yet the powers that be feel that all Palestinians should be dead. How can we as the US, offer shelter/protection to Palestinians already here while funding this destruction.

The world does nothing, as it usually does nothing, just like when the Jews tried to get asylum in the USA in the 40's and were turned away only to die later in concentration camps.
We have become so familiar with horror and propaganda that we have lost our moral compass...
I feel ashamed that my tax dollars are paying for this.

Part of the problem is the mixing up of Jews and Israel. Israel is not the Jews, it is a country built on invasion and that continues invasion, until no one is left to defend themselves.
Why do people on both sides equate Jewish people, and the extreme right-wing Likud government?

A great number of Jews (Hassidim among others) were against the creation of Israel. In the olden days, before 1948, Jews and Palestinians who spoke Arabic and were of many religious persuasions got along just fine. But Israel happened, and it needs to stay alive. It can only do that by stopping the bloodshed.

Why does a nation that was created to heal a huge wound want to do the same thing to a mostly innocent population they declared was less than them? Is it the abused child syndrome, where children of abusers have a tendency to become abusers themselves?

This is bad for the world, bad for the state of Israel, and bad for us

The children are dying because terrorists (Hamas) put the children in harms way.

94. The main reason children are being killed is Hamas.

1. They launch missiles that provoke a justified response.
2. Some of their own missiles fall within Gaza killing civilians
3. Israel responds to suppress the missile fire
4. Hamas makes it impossible to avoid civilian casualties by selecting the launch sites in proximity to children.
Impossible to prove but a lot of reasonable people feel that Hamas does that on purpose to fuel their PR campaign.

Hamas deserves most (all?) of the blame.
Instead, all you and a few others do is blame Israel.

Israel is killing children. That is a fact and cannot be disputed. The rest is disgusting apologia. You are trying to justify Israels' war crimes.

Israel is solely to blame for the bombs it drops.

In its current situation?

Because it seems to me that you would not be happy as long as Israel keeps trying to defend itself.

This no longer has anything to do with self-defense. If it did, it would be a much smaller and simpler operation.

I just can't fathom how anyone can justify or rationalize Israel's, or anyone's, slaughter of children.

1-minute time lapse of an entire neighborhood being reduced to rubble.

A vivid example of those infamous "precision pinpont strikes".

It sucks that we are unable to open our eyes to what is really happening.
