(19,537 posts)Leaders are supposed to be responsive to what the people want, not the people just do what the leaders want. I think that's what leaders like Warren and Sanders are more like than other pols out there.

(25,699 posts)Defining your position according to what the party says isn't especially admirable. Ideally it would be the other way around because, you know, we're not Republicans.

(582 posts)There are factions in the Middle East that only want one thing...and that is death to Israel...and here you are advocating for the limiting of Israels ability to defend itself.
We always jump on the Conservatives because they are manipulated so well...only to find out that Progressives are just as bad.I' embarrassed for you.
and no...I won't sign your petition.

Oh Brother.
If we can't think independently,we are lost.
Imagine if the media wanted to influence common opinion.Imagine further,if even the progressives bought into it.Same shite when the CIA starts a disinformation campaign to influence elections around the globe.
And here "we" are...dutifully following along.

(19,537 posts)We as a world power have a responsibility to make sure if we send arms aid that it is being used properly in terms of defending that country and NOT used against others in an abusive fashion, which has been a concern recently BOTH in the case of Egypt's new regime and in the case of the Netanyahu regime, who are using this aid in an abusive way. Their citizenry needs to understand that if the leadership they put in place abuses the use of that aid, there is a price to be paid. If we can't control how this aid is given out, then weapons dealers are free to make tons of money off of us with no price to be paid, and those receiving the aid also get to do whatever they want with it without a cost.
We as citizens should have a say in how our taxpayer's money is being spent. I think it is time to draw a line in the sand now.

Why?
Because Tahiti isn't in the market for military hardware.
