I am considering returning all of my Christmas purchases.....

.....and notifying those who I bough a gift for to return anything they have purchased for me to do the same. Now that the PUKES have basiscally walked away from the table on tax extensions and an extension on unemployment. I am thinking about this because my unemployment will run out in mid Feb and may need it to live on. The money I have spent already was saved before I lost my job in April it was a bit over $500.

My thoughts are when I return the gifts will be to tell the RETURNS clerk the reason is CORPORATE America owns congress and since they wont give me a due extension on my UE benefits I cannot afford Christmas this year.

Right now I am so pissed that next week I am thinking about making a circuit to all of the local congressional offices and occupy the sidewalks outside to let them know how I feel.

I am hoping I still get my usual Christmas bonus.... Maybe the boss is waiting for Friday... If not, I'm not quite sure what I will tell my boys, except the tearful truth and hope they aren't to disappointed in me.

This year has been really tough for my company, the boss included.

I hope you can find another job by Feb. It's so tough out there. I would hug you if you were here.

Corporate America won't get the message until everything shuts down. When all their customers are broke and forced to survive by barter, garage sales and swap meets, they still won't get the message. Not until it affects them. When no one will gas up their yacht or fuel their Gulfstream III, when no one will cook their food and serve it to them, when no one will mow their golf courses or clean their McMansions, only then will they notice.

Unfortunately, when unemployment is running at 90%, the only jobs left will be gassing up yachts, and cooking and cleaning for folks with money.

... in well over a year. Guess what. They don't even mention those in my position any more. Even the burger joints and the oil change shops don't hire 58 year old men who aren't currently employed. Cripes they barely even acknowledge I've applied these days and I NEVER get called for an interview. You think they care what I'm thinking or dealing with?

The problem isn't the rank and file, we see it with our own eyes. The problem lies with those living in the bubble, insulated from every thing that might inconvenience them in any way. They have medical care, the best money can buy. They have no worry as to where their next meal is coming from or how to keep a roof over their heads. Their limos come full of fuel, filled up by their driver. They probably couldn't tell you the price of a gallon of gas unless one of their servants gave them the info.

When was the last time you heard anyone, from either side of "the aisle," even mention "the 99ers?" That's what we were called, long before there was even an Occupy anywhere. We have become invisible. We are powerless to do a damn thing about it. I felt a huge surge of real hope that day in Jan. '09, it's gone now. No one that COULD do something to help give us a chance, WILL or even try. I've resigned myself to that harsh reality. My lifetime of working, playing by the rules, paying my taxes, being a productive member of society, counts for nothing. I have become officially subhuman and should probably just stop bothering the very important people with my insignificant troubles.

Desperate is an awful way to live, I hope that your extension comes through for you.
