Israeli official calls for concentration camps in Gaza and 'the conquest of the entire Gaza Strip

An Israeli official has called for concentration camps in Gaza and ‘the conquest of the entire Gaza Strip, and annihilation of all fighting forces and their supporters’.

Moshe Feiglin, Deputy Speaker of the Israeli Knesset and member of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s ruling Likud Party, posted the inflammatory message on his Facebook page at the weekend.

He lays out a detailed plan for the destruction of Gaza - which includes shipping its residents across the world - in a letter he addressed to the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
The message, which received more than 2,000 likes on his page, lists four action points which he wants to be enforced as soon as possible.

I have no answer. It's sad to talk about human beings in those terms. Like they are dogs that can be adopted out to willing homes.

I try to give everybody the benefit of the doubt - and by that I mean I can't imagine that most Israeli's agree with this vicious message, but coming from a Deputy Speaker of the ruling party, it is particularly noxious.

I can't imagine that most Jews agree with such vile hatred, either. There are some truly ugly actors in the Likud Party.

weapons. Let's face it, the US is complicit in all of this, and it's time to look elsewhere for a resolution to this horrific state of affairs that has been going on now for decades. Who gave the US permission to be the 'arbiter' of peace in this conflict? Whoever it was made a huge mistake. Either the US CANNOT resolve it or doesn't WANT to resolve it. I am going with the latter.

So, it appears there are other nations willing to try to resolve it. Oberliner gave me a link to an article about China's proposals yesterday. They are in Egypt meeting with Hamas and others to try to end this.

Latin American countries, like China, are not taking the same position the US has traditionally taken. That ONLY Israel has a 'right to defend itself'. These other nations don't seem to be as willing to accept Israel's picture of the conflict as the US is.

The US should from now on be considered as part of the problem. Seeing some movement from these other countries is encouraging. The US and Israel have failed to solve the problem, imo, because they never intended to do so. So let's 'move forward' and look elsewhere for a solution.

every time we fund a missile, our media covers for those who are killing in Gaza, and nobody dares to condemn the actions Israel has taken. You can't destroy their infrastructure on one hand, and then say that Israel isn't doing exactly some of the things this Deputy Speaker has advocated.

You can't. They encroached on their land, which was small to begin with, and now they are just bombing it.

Neither side is perfect, but when you put in motion a plan that makes life unbearable, you are sending a message of "Go somewhere else, or die".

On 9/11 I popped in a tape and recorded CNN.

Several Republicans were on there advocating a crackdown on our freedom. One was saying we needed armed checkpoints on every state line and travel permits. Think about that. No more freely traveling between the states. You would have to APPLY to each state individually and they could decline the request to drive through and every one of them would require a fee. Permits would have to be turned over for review at the border and your vehicle would be inspected for contraband all in the name of protecting us from terrorism.

One mocked Dems saying, "Washington shouldn't be about people saying, 'We should spend money on education, I'm a teacher.'" He then talked about expanding the already bloated Pentagon budget and another one was concerned about "investor confidence" and said we needed to eliminate some fucking tax only rich people pay.

Some on the right were openly talking about getting rid of every Muslim in the country. They STILL act like Christians are more loyal to America than other faiths (Or lack thereof.) Same goes for being a Right Winger. They loved the idea of FEMA camps when they believed the targets were Liberals.

About ten years ago I extracted a clip from the Malloy show and Eric at Bushflash did the graphics:

Comparing anything done or said by anyone who is Jewish to anything done or said by Nazis is anti-Semitic, or so I am informed.

"never again" used to mean "never again" to anyone, by anyone, or so I thought.

The abused have become the abusers, and we have enabled them.

I know that many citizens of Israel strongly disapprove of this kind of policy. I think we must stop funding it and challenge anyone in authority there who advocates this kind of pogrom.

This isn't some random person. This is the Deputy Speaker of the Knesset, a member of the ruling Likud party.

Is that the same as stating it is Israeli policy? No. Would it be alarming as hell if we heard such things coming from John Boehner? Yes, I think it would scare the shit out of me.

Form your own opinions from his words, and the actions of the Israeli government. He has said plenty of things that are just as harsh and nary a peep from Netanyahu to say "we don't believe this" nor have the actions of the Israeli government given much of an indication that this isn't the prevailing wind they are blowing in.

I listen to words, and look at actions. That's the only way to really evaluate the political stance of a person or of a nation.

Edit to add: I mention Tibi because his views are about as diametrically opposed to Feiglin's as is humanly possible.

Manhigut Yehudit is to Likud what the Tea Party is to Republicans. Or maybe more like Pat Buchanan and George Bush.

He and Netanyahu despise each other for what that is worth.

Unfortunately 1 out of 4 Likud voters are Feiglin fans.

You got it exactly right. (Should I add unfortunately?)

This is a parliamentary type of thing which is even more complicated than our own system meaning it is faction based and often with components that are rather bizarre.

Netanyahu has allied himself with the Looney party - much like McConell having to pay lip service to Rand Paul...

has been rather revealing by the actions taken so far. Destroy the infrastructure, make Gaza uninhabitable and figure out what to do with the people in the way of that sweet real estate on the Mediterranean.

You can say one thing, but doing another makes it obvious that the other is where you really stand.

Mon Aug 4, 2014, 11:09 PM

Every time he says such things, and the Israeli government doesn't roundly criticize him for it, they are consenting to it. Worse, actions speak louder than words. Israel isn't there yet, but to deny that they encroached on a large section of Gaza (42% of an already small sliver of land) is going to raise eyebrows.

The ground troops have pulled back, but what of the other objectives? Destroying the power plant. Check. Destroying water treatment facilities. Check. Bombing hospitals. Check.

Actions speak louder than words.

Is this a callout? Let me know asap.

Personally I am not getting the connection, nor the abrupt tangential nature of your comment.

Anti-Semitism seems to be raised whenever people depart from the main discussion to interject one or more additional comments from sources which have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, especially when someone feels the need to interject a meme or website from a group with very suspicious tendencies/

You can tell these sources by their focus on things such as trying to tie things back to the Holocaust (I'm gonna call this Lithos' Law in honor of Godwin's Law where any discussion of Modern Middle East Affairs must bring mention to the Holocaust). If you invoke Lithos' Law about the Holocaust then it's officially a stretch.

But back to my comment at hand. Netanyahu has crossed a boundary - his RW all/or-nothing roots are showing. Hamas is a piece of crap, but Nutty-yahoo has shown his inabilities to come up with a real leaders solutions. Is this something you are willing to discuss?

a person *could* rationalize this one. Passing it off as the ravings of a mad man would be one thing, but the fact is, they have absolutely destroyed the infrastructure in Gaza. People advancing rhetoric is one thing, but when actions follow that rhetoric, it makes it hard to say "Oh, he didn't mean it, he's nobody important".

Buildings all destroyed, power out long term, schools, hospitals destroyed, with over 400,000 displaced already, almost half of the population! The "tunnels" were a bull shit excuse. I wouldn't be surprised the weapons caches in the abandoned U.N. Schools were planted. What terrorist leaves two big stashes of weapons unguarded in the middle of a war?

I told my mom this was their plan, to make the area unlivable so the Palestinians had to move. This heartless, ironic blowhard let slip the plan early, not that it will matter. Sad.

I don't believe the current line of "he's just a right-wing whacko". Israel is already doing some of those things - destroying the power plant, destroying the water treatment facility, bombing hospitals and schools, etc.

He may be the politician saying it, but as a whole, the Israeli government is DOING some of it.

That's what I question. It's hard to say he's just some whackjob for saying it openly when many of the things he is advocating are being done.

I like the added touch of requiring all Palestinians to sign oaths of allegiance to Israel, and making them carry blue allegiance cards (to be shown to police), just as they've done on the West Bank 'for years.' I wonder how this would fly if the US required such proof of allegiance from Jewish Americans. Time for American Jewry to cry out against these types of proposals.

This whole waste, not just with I/P, but internally and everywhere it seems, is senseless. From those who dream of becoming heroes on our own land to those wanting to own their own world have me tired of their ways. When it feels like there will be no end to it we know those in power are winning, and we don't have a say. Even here there is difficultly in getting past petty differences - we cannot make things better if the best we can do is hope the right loses. But that's a whole different thread (can't remember who posted it).
