The kid isn't, no more than he's ISIS, as that headline says, but what do you expect from crap like the Daily Mail. Sharrouf managed to slip out of Australia with his four kids (not sure where his wife is now) on someone else's passport. The mob online reaction appears to be calls to deport Sharrouf, but there's some problems with that, mainly that he's no longer in Australia to deport, and even if he was, if they want to deport him back to where he was born, that'd be Australia anyway. Instead they should be asking what I am, which is how did someone who's on a no-fly list manage to get through customs using someone else's passport. The end result of that fuck up is that there's now four children in danger, coz that pic and others I've heard of are blatant child abuse. The Australian Federal Police have issued an arrest warrant for Sharrouf, but it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realise he's got no plans to ever come back here...

Here's the story from a reliable and non-sensationalist source. A translation for Americans who aren't familiar with the language of Bogans. 'Youse' translates as 'you all'. It looks like they're a charming family..

Boy's uncle says forget about photo of severed head

Politicians and Muslim community leaders have labelled it sickening, deplorable and shockingly evil.

But Khaled Sharrouf's brother believes Australia should simply "forget" about a photo of his young nephew holding the severed head of a Syrian soldier.

As the shocking image of Sharrouf's son travelled around the world on Monday, Mostafa Sharrouf, a stonemason from Sydney's western suburbs, said: "He's gone, forget about it. He's forgotten about youse. I'm sure you've seen much worse than that."

Sharrouf, 33, slipped out of Australia last year using Mostafa's passport and travelled with his four children to Syria and Iraq, where he has been fighting with the terrorist rebel group Islamic State.

The jihadist from Punchbowl has become Australia's most wanted terrorist and continues to bait authorities from afar by posting images and threats online.

<snip>

Community leader Jamal Rifi said the photos could only be taken "by a very sick person".

"His actions are deplorable," he said. "There's a lot of anger within the community because he's doing much more damage to Islam when he's pretending to be defending Islam."

Dr Rifi has known Sharrouf's father for years and spent time with the family at their Chester Hill home.

A court found in 2009 that Sharrouf, who spent four years in prison on terrorism charges, had a troubled upbringing that included violence from his father, illicit drug use and paranoid hallucinations.

"This does not give him an excuse but may explain his behaviour," Dr Rifi said.

Lebanese Muslim Association president Samir Dandan said the photos were "the act of a lunatic".

of "disbelievers and apostates" of its sects and other religions who have sold out to Western values of government and business. No amount of mocking them, reinterpreting them as terrorists will make them change their momentum right now. They are putting their beliefs into action, and all others who block their way die.

Through their eight year old video and film production studios they've been working on encouraging the rest of the global ummah to get behind their establishment of the promised future caliphate, and it looks as though they might actually eliminate the nation state of Iraq. They are not to be taken lightly simply because, right now, we outgun them.

Republicans are thinking on this, and it behooves Democrats to pay attention to them and not spend time validating each other's rightness about jihad's wrongness when partisan foreign policy debates are looming.

If you're implying that advocating war is the ultimate idiocy, I'd say that a defensive war is justified if we're attacked and clearly know our attackers, and if we don't let such a defensive war be exploited for others' gains.

But we're not in any defensive position.

ummah. This debate about their validity and rightness is not ours to have. We need to just watch what they say and do, and how they are received by Muslims. I don't see any large uprisings for or against them in other areas of the world. The silence should tell you something.

Your interpretation is not the last word. Theirs is. You discount them. I believe them and I'm keeping my radar out for internal criticisms from the ummah.

media and watch Muslim produced videos. My position comes from that of an atheist. Dictating religions only interest me insofar as they threaten my way of life as a human woman. I know there's no unified ummah, but I also know that the ummah's decisions on who leads them do not come from what we'd call a unified moderate position, either.

If you want to impugn my credibility, you really shouldn't go there. I'm not doing that with you, so let's dial down on the personal here.

to any nonsense talk about funding the "moderate" Syrian opposition. There is no such thing. The Assad regime may not be a bed of roses, but such a picture, along with the atrocities befalling the nation's minorities and women, would be unthinkable before this uprising.

all Muslims are just terrorists and IDF should be allowed to exterminate them at will? Plenty of terrorist in the world of all stripes of fundamentalism. They all visit discord and mayhem in the name of whichever diety. Endless war is just endless war. The ones McCain wanted us to go whole hog with.

That is the opposition to the Syrian govt, a govt that Israel hates, but the same govt that kept peace in Syria for a long, long time.

Now the Syrian people are suffering and partly that is because the Syrian rebels have made use of American weapons that the US left behind in Iraq.

How many people in the middle east agree or could live under these guys.

Right now you see a LOT of people either doing what they say, or fleeing to some other region.

However I think eventually the people are going to have to get with their program or take up arms and fight them.

I can't believe that in semi secular countries like Iraq and Syria there arent' enough people who don't agree with them to drive them out.

Here in the US we have a militia show up to defend some crazy rancher from the gov't? Imagine what would happen if something like that happened here. Huge guerilla war between the population and the invaders.
