Sale of Clippers officially closes; Ballmer becomes new owner

I suspect the Clippers will end up moving to Seattle.

Amazing how an owner being a racist can force a change. I suspect he mentally regressed to a time when it was common to for people to talk the way he did. It's sad, but I've seen it in others who go through Azheimers and other age related brain syndromes.

because he had an Al Davis-like reputation for suing everybody who crossed him and tying every transaction up in ruinously expensive legal hell for years.

The owners didn't want to set a bad precedent for themselves be censuring an owner and the players had little power except to try to avoid playing for him. They were also afraid of retribution from the owners if they spoke out.

He was and is, don't forget, very rich and powerful. You can get away with a hell of a lot when whole neighborhoods in LA address their rent checks to you.
