I realize that Corey is supposedly known as a tough prosecutor. However, I am worried that her tough reputation, may not translate into justice, in the Trayvon Martin case. I am concerned that we'll see another Republican pander to the right wing, vs. do the right thing.
Talk me down please.
Her campaign website can be found here. > Angela Corey Republican for State Attorney.

She was all dolled up. Why would a prosecutor go on a tabloid show?

(37,626 posts)...let's Zimmerman walk - and a whole lot of pissed off racist constituents if she doesn't.
We'll see...

(30,439 posts)I think bypassing the grand jury is a good sign. What would she or the Republican establishment in Florida have to gain from letting Zimmerman walk without charges? Nothing.
I think they want this going to trial and jury and then they want it to go away.

(16,799 posts)Anyone appointed by Scott already has credibilty problems...even if he had appointed a Democrat!
If they let Zimmerman walk...they get the support of the NRA and its allies, because by letting him walk they bring credibility to the SYG law that is the NRA's and ALEC love child!
If they don't, what do they lose? It's not like Floridians are going to rush to become Democrats...besides with or without a trial this will go away! With the Republican convention coming up...people for the most part will forget, and move on to the next thing!

(52,792 posts)status. Someone who didn't kowtow to liberal/media pressure. She'd have an influx of campaign funds and interviews on every right wing talk show across the land...
I hope she's interested in doing the right thing? Though, I fear another Katherine Harris moment.

Hopefully, justice is in progress.
