As well all know, it has long been said that nothing good happens after midnight. This curfew should help restore order and make it easier to distinguish between the RIGHTEOUS PROTESTERS and the opportunistic and VILE looters.

REASON FOR ALERT
This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.
ALERTER'S COMMENTS
Laughing at personal attacks against a recovering alcoholic is SO below DU.
You served on a randomly-selected Jury of DU members which reviewed this post. The review was completed at Sat Aug 16, 2014, 06:59 PM, and the Jury voted 1-6 to LEAVE IT.
Juror #1 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #2 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Denied. This alert was an abuse of the DU alert system.
Juror #3 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Da fuq does that alert mean?
Juror #4 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Ok, um...
Go to bed, you're drunk is a somewhat common saying for when someone does something odd, or out of the ordinary.
As for a personal attack, I don't see it - Admittedly, I don't know the history between the posters but wouldn't it be better to alert on the supposed attack rather then a response to it?
Juror #5 voted to HIDE IT
Explanation: No explanation given
Juror #6 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: "Offending" comment no different than saying " you are crazy/nuts" in response to a nonsensical statement.
Juror #7 voted to LEAVE IT ALONE
Explanation: Oh for heaven's sake.....................

Thanks

(54,770 posts)it will at least keep the community from getting hurt protecting stores from looters. I bet a lot of citizens support it.
Hope it's lifted soon, policeman is indicted, and a PD housecleaning initiated.

Who needs to be out after midnight except for work?
If you were a store owner there. do you want your business protected? Thanks for posting.
Exactly, Hoyt.

(14,040 posts)shown always has a pleasant outcome. Especially a community that has the history of Sundown laws in their no too recent past. Yeah, great idea.

The police cannot respond for obvious reasons.
This may save lives and certainly help the store owners.
We had curfews in my town in my childhood days. I remember it well. When violence becomes so imminent. people have a right to be protected.
I think a good part of DU just wants to see more unrest and rioting. Sadly I think this is true.
Remember what happened to Reginald Denny and other innocents caught up in the riots in LA? Does anyone truly want this?
Who wants more violence?
Starry Messenger
(32,376 posts)All of this idiocy about imposing martial law and quelling "rioting" with insane military force is what is upsetting people. The police need to follow the damn laws and pursue this case for what it is: one of their officers shooting an unarmed man and then dragging their feet.
The police could help save lives by you know, not shooting unarmed people. That would totally uphold people's rights to be protected AND keep anyone from being killed.
The COPS are the ones who ARE the violence.

(43,612 posts)Are you aware there are night shift workers as well as Nurses who work over night.. Are you going to tell them to go home and stay there because there is a curfew on, and what about those who get off at midnight, are you going to arrest them for going home after a hospital shift?
There are people who actually work after midnight..and they ARE NOT ALL COPS.
