(18,219 posts)was because I have really tried to get pictures of whales or dolphins jumping, and I know how hard it is to do. Beyond my personal experience with lots of empty water pictures, I don't know what I would have chosen.

(46,436 posts)We saw several whales last spring when we were down in Southeast, but the best I could do was a couple of tails. They breach, but they don't always jump all the way out of the water, and you never know where they're going to pop up. By the time you train your camera on them, they're gone.
